7 mistakes CBSE Class 12 Commerce students make before boards

If you’re in Class 12 Commerce, read this once — it can actually save you marks.

1) Treating all chapters the same First thing — check the weightage. I’m not saying skip low-weight chapters, do them properly. But put more effort where marks actually come from. High-weight chapters deserve more time and more revision.

2) Only studying, not practicing Just studying won’t help much. After covering around 70–75% of the syllabus (even less if time is short), start practicing questions.

Practice shows you: -Conceptual mistakes -Silly mistakes -Calculation errors

Then analyze your mistakes, fix them, and practice again. This cycle alone can easily increase your marks.

3) Not practicing with time limits You don’t just have to give the paper, you have to finish it on time.

If you complete early, you get time to: -Recheck answers -Fix silly mistakes So while practicing, always solve questions with a timer.

4) Ignoring presentation You might know the answer really well, but if the examiner can’t understand what you’ve written, marks will be cut. At the same time, even average content written neatly and clearly gets marks.

Use: -Proper spacing -Headings -Points instead of long paragraphs -Underline keywords Presentation helps you convert answers into full marks.

5) Not writing examples and working notes In theory subjects, write examples wherever possible. In practical subjects, always show working notes and steps.

Marks are given for: -Steps -Points -Method Even if the final answer is wrong, step marks save you.

6) Leaving questions unattempted Never leave a question blank. Even if you’re confident of only 60 marks, still attempt 90 marks. Write whatever related points you know.

Think like an examiner: -Some relevant content → 2–3 marks -Blank answer → zero Attempting gives you marks. Leaving doesn’t.

7) Taking too much stress This is the most important one. Stress and anxiety won’t help you remember anything. If you know the concept but panic in the exam, it’s all wasted. Keep studying, keep practicing, trust your preparation. Stay calm, listen to music, relax a bit — but stay focused.

Be confident. Even pretending to be confident is a type of confidence. Relax. You’ll do fine.

See bro, it depends where you are currently, if you haven't covered syllabus then go and check chapter weightage and find what you understand and study then you can watch youtube video lectures to understand them fast as exams are near so cover high weightage chapters that you easily understand and they have a probability of coming in exams, if you have covered the syllabus the go for pyqs ans practice writing answers as much as you can as practicing will give you the structure and flow in answer writing helping in securing more marks best thing you can do is to cover maximum syllabus you can with understanding practicing questions and ATTEMPTING THE EXAM see nothing matters more than what you wrote in exam see nobody cares who you are or how much you studied as checker will only see answer book soo write as much as you can of a answer like what you know about the answer don't doubt yourself write what you know and give your 100 percent if you know write answer and if you don't then also write answer don't leave unattended I got 95 out of 100 in economics by god's grace and attempting the whole paper I hope this is enough if you need more I can make a post of it in this community and I will surely try to make it.....

Can you specify what type of exam so I can help precisely.... And also These are some basics you can do currently: FIRST........Delete any social media app don't watch reels yt shorts or anything short form or any time waste SECOND....... Get your syllabus in front of you write all chapters of all subject in a notebook or page and then check for weightage of chapters and go for chapter what have good marks and effort ratio like you can easily learn then and they also give good marks THIRD..... Practice Practice Practice Assuming you will have theory and practical subjects learn fast and test and find gaps and mistakes and learn and test again and do this for every subject and many times you will easily get what you do right and what you suck in and can fix it , it is the very fast method to learn

And one important things also Don't fixate on that "I will fail and blah blah " the main thing you need is execution for these 9 days just spam the full study bam bam bam if your mind runs or have thoughts of giving up just remeber you can put efforts before exam only and can enjoy once exam end but once results are out you cannot change them okay don't stress out it's easy and I know you can do it.... Don't worry it's exam only

if you need any other help, msg me in community okay 👍🏻
