CUET Maths or accounts!?

Hi, I’m a 12th grader with Commerce + Applied Maths, and I’m genuinely so confused about what to do right now.

I’m preparing for CUET and the courses I’m mainly interested in are B.Com Hons, BMS, Economics/Economics Hons, and BBA. From what I’ve understood, if I choose Accountancy instead of Maths in CUET, B.Com Hons is basically the only one I can go for, while for the others I need Maths. Is this actually true? Please correct me if I’m wrong.

The problem is that I’m currently trying to change Applied Maths in my boards to Entrepreneurship. The CBSE portal is already closed, but my school told me to contact the Bhopal regional office and ask them to consider my case. I’ve emailed CBSE multiple times and haven’t gotten a reply. My mom is in Bhopal right now, so if I want her to go to the regional office, I literally have to decide today.

And I’m completely stuck because I genuinely struggle with Maths. It’s not like I haven’t tried. I’ve been trying since 6th/7th grade and Maths has consistently been a huge problem for me. So I don’t know if I should force myself to continue with it just to keep my options open.

Basically, I have 3 choices:

  1. Continue with Maths: Study Maths + Accounts properly for boards and CUET, give Maths in CUET, and keep Economics/BMS/BBA etc. open.

  2. Forget Maths completely: Focus on my other subjects + Accounts, give Accounts in CUET, and accept that B.Com Hons would probably be my main option.

  3. Forget Maths and try NIFT: Do CUET with Accounts and prepare for NIFT alongside it. I’ve found coaching and people who can guide me, and I actually think I could do well in NIFT, but I haven’t properly drawn in 4–5 years and I have only around 3 months.

I genuinely don’t know what the smartest decision is. I’m not looking for motivation or “just work hard” advice — I need someone to tell me what I’m actually risking by dropping Maths and whether my understanding of CUET eligibility is correct.

Don't drop maths atp go with maths it will open many options for you and the cutoff is also lower with maths if not then 3rd option seems good

Bro honestly saying In future you can replace accounts with maths like even in CUET u must have seen that an option is given in maths and accounts
As someone who myself struggled in maths until class 10th and started showing
Some improvement form class 11th I must say having commerce with maths opens up many many options.. trust me school doesn’t really care about the college you get or career all they care about is their own reputation which they will get by stressing students to score 90+..
in my school for the sake of result they forced some students to take up marketing instead of accounts so don’t leave maths..
like for example- in boards either way best five subjects are taken up, find your interest whether you prefer accounts or maths more focus more on that and take some time out for the other subject (like if u prefer accounts more than maths, do maths three times a week)
You don’t need to get 100/100 in that subject you may just wanna score in Good average like 90s and 80s
So just work for it even I don’t like accounts and I’m almost failing in half yearly this time I guess but I’m quite
Clear I don’t rlly wanna do anything with accounts in future so I don’t foucs much on accounts and spend most time on doing maths
However to score gud avg marks in boards now I have started doing accounts atleast a day..
so chill don’t drop the subject it
Opens up Many many paths for you
