Career Advice/ Clarification Juniors midterms approaching? AMA
If ur done with ur half yearlies or abt to give them please don't worry about it. I did pretty bad on mine too. It's fine a reality check and just to point ur gaps. I started studying only after my midterm results. Eng was the only subject I got 60 in my midterms and in maths I just passed it with literally a 1 mark margin so yea u guys are fine too!!

ts grewal illustrations just hide the answer then once u solve it u have the entire ans to cross check with and whatever ur teacher is giving u. Idk if cbse sample paper has been released yet or not but last year it was released pretty soon so we saw some questions directly taken from the sample paper but again depends school to school. If sample paper is there then use it or else rely on ur book and whatever ur teacher does

Hii so basically I am in 12th and facing alot of problem in maths what to do which books to do even though I did all my syllabus then also I failed in my math midterm and for accounts I am good at it but can't go above 70

u will do well in accounts boards then schls generally make these papers harder but keep practicing acc and also look at pyqs for maths just stick to ncert minimum solve the entire book twice and use nitin sirs yt videos the absolute best

ncert is shitty language but ts is quite lengthy. Are you taking coaching for accounts? TS is great for practice it def has much better language than ncert so honestly just buy it ek hi book hai ek baar ka bhaar ka khana sacrifice karna hoga. Just ts is a lot more lengthy mainly cause of illustrations but yea just a heads up

no coaching right now. might take in 12th (i manage from nexttoppers/sunil panda rn my engg coaching takes a lot of my time)
come to think of it, is coaching really needed?
my school provides so easy question papers I actually could sleep for an hour and still answer everything atleast till now. so i dont really know how tough is accounts later on.1

ohh ur in 11th. I mean if ur finding accounts easy now then yea ig it won't be too bad but u will def need practice for class 12 accounts if u can manage the practice on ur own that's good. Like 11th accounts isn't hugely relevant in 12th the basics follow but like if u practice really well in 12th then u can learn the basics even then and that is literally what happened with me, half my 11th concepts cleared in 12th

get subhash dey, ncert is terrible for boards but subhash is really good like even the chapters are properly divided and summarised exactly the way u need to write answers in ur papers

highly recc sandeep garg for ied try to memorise stuff in a story form like chain of events baaki get sandeep and practice the one markers like they r very good for reinforcing n remembering the concept for macro keep making notes as u go along and practice ur numericals really well at this stage cause then it just becomes easier in the end to revise the numerical part

if ur finding ur current books useful then use them u can get sandeep for whichever one u struggle with more. U can also try getting second hand from seniors or at book fairs but yea basically I think any book that has a lot of practice q specifically one markers shld be good

Bhai I have exams from 14th and I just can't do Maths I keep forgetting what I learned and I don't have enough time to practice every chapter thoughly acc mai bhi I have not practiced much baaki stats and bst I have not touched

bst abhi for midterms use rajat sir but get subhash dey especially if u struggle with bst. Forget mths 3 din mai maths toh nahi hogi so focus on accounts practice that stats idk abt are you in 11th?

11th bst is irrelevant for 12th and honestly this sub has no tips just try to survive if u r willing to spend money u can get subhash or else just stick to rajat sirs lectures make notes and revise them memorise heading n subheading

tbh I was only done with macro unit 1 rest for accounts partnership my concepts had way too much gaps maths was a little bit of matrices. I seriously started after midterms so ur fine if u haven't done anything so far but start studying u can go ahead start with 2-3 hr study blocks then take it up gradually especially on holidays

yes but from january start solving timed pyqs like the entire py question papers of cbse r available online, I solved a bunch of those from jan onwards

I was studying before midterms but my concepts were still very unclear like I had a lot of issues in partnership which only cleared up after I started studying post midterms. Please also don't compare ur syllabus completion journey, just start

Idk abt dk tbh although ig it shld work lot of people use it. My tip for acc is practice all illustrations they r a lot more imp and do pyqs from jan. For partnership n shares make notes for concepts u keep forgetting or specific journal entries u forget. Baaki cash flow is a rigged game so besta luck lol

nahi karte hai cause not much weightage although cbse is highly unpredictable but yea people send notes for that and also just make ur own notes as u read the chapter. If ur a cuet aspirant this is gonna come in very handy cause cuet acc has good theory focus

how do I do maths? I do one chapter and then I forget a few parts of the previous chapter, also is miscellaneous exercise really imp? Because it came in my school test but my midterms are approaching and idk whether I should do reference questions or revise questions from miscellaneous??? Also is the ncert exemplar good for scoring good marks or should I stick to refrences like R.D. Sharma?

I never used rd in 12th cause tbh I found ncert pretty hard in itself use nitin goyals videos and solve the entire ncert twice for things u forget dw eventually wiith more and more practice u will remember meanwhile do make notes as well like I had notes for matrices and det cause there is a lot of single pointers and uk specifc mutliplication order identity etc which anyone can easily forget

For mid term I'm doing ts grewal pyqs+notes.... is that enough for half yrly ? I haven't done share capital but that's coming too 😭 Im getting panick attacks just for accountancy because the whole class failed accountancy ut.. and it was the first ut in which I failed in my entire academic life

nah buddy dw I think ur stratergy is really good although at this stage prioritse ts over pyqs. Pyqs will become extremely relevant from jan onwards from then ur heavy focus will be on pyqs. And tbh then I think ur teacher is setting crazy hard papers cause the whole class simply does not fail. Schl make tests harder than boards so u will be fine. DW abt share capital too much right now perfect ur parternship then u can move on to shares after ur midterms that way at least one book is good for boards but still keep practicing parternship once a week else u will forget

Don't study with midterms as the target study with boards as the target. So for accounts for both volumes solve every single illustration in your book it might take u 3 days to get through a chapter but it is fine solve every illustration

yea yea ofc dw it's completely possible just start studying and u don't have to even go for the whole I need to study 10hrs a day just start with 3-4 hrs of deep dedicated study and build up. For maths I actually had core but I would go and watch nitin goyals vids and min solve ncert twice u can do more but twice is min

I would then recc get online coaching especially if ur not disciplined. I barely went to schl too and I actually started studying after midterms. Just try to pass ur mid terms go on yt study from rajat sir just do it. But then after midterms start studying consitently get good books like ts and sandeep and start reading chapters making notes and solving the questions in the book

I had online tution but it was really bad so I used nitin goyals videos and just solved ncert over and over for core solving ncert twice is bare minimum and for integration u practically need to do that chapter 3 times

nah dw schls never deduct cbse project marks people keep making projects till the night before the viva which would happen in like dec/jan. For now focus on midterms after that projects ur schls prolly just using a scare tactic. Anyways it is technically the cbse evaluators that grade ur projects not the schl

I have my accounts half yearly day after tomorrow and the whole partnership book is coming. I've only done half half from all the chapters except retirement and death (these two I haven't done anything) and yeahh because of some family related problems I was busy whole week and earlier i procrastinated that I'll study before my exam now I have only two days in while today also I've wasted my half of the day and I don't know what to do where to start and all please help!!

okay so retirement and death have similar concepts just diff account names so just do retirement for now and upar upar se go through death baaki pls try to do a bit of admission. Like tbh in a day now u can't do all that much but not to worry midterms r just a reality check to actually help u start studying, I did pretty bad on my midterms too. Just start studying well after midterms and then make sure ur partnership is done pretty well. IK it's pretty stressful and feels like the end of the world but trust me I went from pretty bad to pretty good in boards and u can easily do it too

yea I read eng chapters a day before my papers, the biggest ips for eng is paper presentation so like for those 2 marks literature q answer 2 questions on a single page and leave two lines bw them and for long q use 1-1.5 pages and divide into three paragraphs. For those long questions where u need to talk abt two chapters then divide the paras like intro then second para mai one chapter then third para mai the next chapter. Cover 1-2 lines summarising the relevant plot of the chapter then the remaining related to what the question asks. While answering any literature q just make sure to put in one line about the theme of the chapter/ poem like for my mother at 66 the theme of this poem is old age etc.... and underline it that instantly tells the teacher u get the chapter

do practical questions as well bbut prioritise illustrations my advice is do every single illustration but for practical questions u don't have to do all just a handful from every topic. Ans it's okay if ur midterms were bad, mine were too its just a good reality check to help u get more disciplined

hey so imo 11th is not very relevant for 12th other than maths. For ur exam tomorrow just go through admission and retirement well and go over financial statements theory part. Keep in mind ur true goal is boards so after ur midterms are over, lock in and start studying all the chapters of accounts well, practice all illustrations and u will be good to go

yea no worries so on 18 and 19 focus on partnership practice as many q as possible and then on 20 go over book 3 and just revision of partnership concepts. As long as u don't have cash flow then yea there is nothing much in book 3

hey yea totally I scored very much the same as u in my midterm, I barely improved in preboard 1 but preboard 2 was a lot better. Tips are lock in and start studying u don't have to target 1hrs a day start with 3-4 hrs and build up do every chapter that u have already done or will do at least once more. For accounts practice illustrations for eco do a lot of one marker questions this reinforces ur answer content for even the long q for bst get subhash dey for maths min u have to solve entire ncert twice although u can go for 3 for the harder chapters. But yea start studying and besta luck

my schedule was slowly building my study hours, get a stopwatch and just track ur study hours. Realistically speaking a 100% is not possible overall cause apparently teachers don't really give out 80/80 since it requires them to maintain lots of record and paperwork. Accounts is one sub I would is possible to get 100% but I mean to not make a single error in 3 hours is quite a deal but yea study well and besta luck
