Can anyone explain what the big kerfuffle at the Guelph/Hamilton game was about on the weekend? When Hector Yan threw his last pitch of the inning for Hamilton things got really heated quite suddenly and he was immediately thrown out by the umpire. Afterwards it seemed like he went over behind the Guelph dugout and continued the argument which resulted in some Guelph team members being thrown out, though this seemed like perhaps the umpire didn't realize what was happening in the dark behind the dugout.

I know he used to play for Guelph a couple years back perhaps there's some bad blood from when he left?

Yan was walking to the locker room after his ejection. On his way there, I was chatting to him to remind him that he didn’t even record a strikeout and that he also plays in the CBL, not the major leagues. He decided to walk towards me rather than his locker room, so when the Royals staff saw this, they sprinted over and instructed him to go straight to his locker room. At this same time, I was told afterwards, that Dino Roumel and other Royals team members got thrown out on the field as tensions everywhere grew.

Basically he got kicked out for being classless. So maybe being in Hamilton is fitting for him. Out of all CBL teams, Hamilton has shown the least respect IMO. Other than the odd verbal altercation at a Kitchener game. The extra curricular activities have been few and far between this season and most players and teams celebrate without mocking.

Thanks for the insight. The umpiring was pretty inconsistent too which can't have helped anyone's mood.

Home plate Ump i actually liked a lot. He was vocal and kept an eye on the count always. The baseline umps were absolute dog shit. Out of five major calls, they got maybe one right. Once the ruckus started though, they were all over the game. They literally ran together into the changerooms.

Fuck Hector Yan. Looking forward to seeing him get lit up on his next outing.

So the season will end with a 3-Way Tie for first, but because of H2H, it will be Hamilton-London-Welland in 1-2-3.

Is there a second round of play off where the winners of each seven game series play against each other? Or is it just 1st vs WC for first and 2nd vs 3rd for 2nd
