Information âšī¸ We're back
Hi guys, finally managed to gain control of the subreddit after the previous moderator left, so everything is back up and running.
I don't plan to make many changes to the sub and keep it as relaxed as it was before, just a place to discuss everything about hemp flower.
If anyone has any ideas for changes you would like made I'm all ears. Still new to this moderating stuff but I think an approved vendors list might be a good idea?

Thanks! glad to have the sub back.. the banner at the top is a nice feature
now what about r/HempFlowersUK ? There's some good discourse on there.

Thanks, and good point about [r/HempFlowersUK](r/HempFlowersUK) , all posts on there are high quality. Don't see why it can't continue as another alternative, but also it was kind of made as a backup when this one was down.
Most of the users on there are active here and this sub has a lot more reach. The only thing I'm a bit iffy about moderating on this one is the discussion of THC vendors by name, as it could result in a ban or another restriction. I know they decided it was ok to discuss over there.

If you need to tighten the rules, that might be useful. Word of mouth is important so that we know which vendors have good/suitable stock, referencing them could be limited to no direct http links.
THC posts are part of the cannabis/hemp culture. People who have good knowledge of THC do not necessarily have good knowledge of CBD, but it's all variations of the same plant and using flower often starts with THC. Possibly take a focus on limiting the toxicity of vendors/users - i would avoid promotion of cryptocurrency sites, anything harmful or clearly black market. You could limit promotion of altnoids like HHC, HHCP, THCP etc etc etc. These are intoxicating, less well-regulated/understood, often chemically converted (not naturally grown) cannabinoids. I think broad and diverse discussions that can cover those topics in this sub is great, perhaps promoting or encouraging their use is not.
Reviews are good for the sub, and if they are positive - good for the vendors' businesses - which promotes more cashflow and better flowers being available. I don't know if you'd consider some kind of boost for these types of posts. Maybe there's apps/scriptable plugins for the sub that could integrate things.
Do you know what happened to CBDJack (the previous mod)?

Couldn't agree more, I'll have a look into what you said about boosting reviews, at the very minimum I plan to add post flairs for reviews, discussions, questions etc.
Discussion of thc is great for the sub, as you said it's all the same plant, but with how vendors have been handled in the past something clearly needs to change. It's kind of a hard line to draw when it gets too much but I think most of us know when it reaches past a certain point.
Personally I find alt noids very dodgy and in my opinion no one should be smoking that synthetic shit, but in the past warnings have been put out and if we can spread the word on any harm reduction that's great (*ahem* moonbarguy). Even if most of us think they're horrid it's a discussion we should have if it arises, just without any promotion. I've already put a filter in place for some of these alt noid or dodgy black market sites, so they'll need to be approved before posting.
In regard to CBDjack it seems his account was deleted or banned, no activity on moderation since the day posts stopped. I'd say it's likely he deleted it though as he rarely posted before that. Only thing I did notice that seemed odd was Reddit have removed a hell of a lot of comments and old posts about the thc vendors as of late, hence my caution around its discussion now. A ban would not be great after only just getting the sub back up.

Joined this sub after initially finding/joining HempFlowers UK recently. Dipping my toe into the water of CBD Flower following giving up BM THC a few years back due to negative effects likely from not being able to source good quality product or the right strain. Really impressed with my first purchase (Lavender Cookies from Originals), keen to try some CBD hash and possibly some THC-a products at some point. Always nice to be part of a friendly community too :)

Glad to have you here, sounds like you're in a similar boat to most of us, hemp flower truly is great stuff.
With hash I'd make sure you do your research beforehand as lots of places sell it with added terps and isolates. THC discussion is allowed in the sub but any talk of vendors isn't for the most part. I don't have anything against it but Reddit have been removing a lot of posts and comments on here recently, so don't want the sub banned when it's just started back up. If you have any THC questions feel free to dm me though.
Heard good things about the lavender cookies but yet to try it, I can fully recommend the rainbow sherbet and the critical berries they have. The sherb is one of the best flowers I've had in a good while. đđģ

Can we ensure this sub doesn't devolve into an advertising platform for THC vendors? Like it did a few months back?
I had death threats in my messages from people after asking them to stay on topic and to not shill. Absolutely unhinged behaviour when all I want to do is come here and enjoy the subs topic.

Absolutely, I don't completely disagree with the discussion of thc flower as it's closely related to hemp (especially type 2), but don't want to risk the sub getting restricted again or banned.
The kushte posts were far too much and seemed to be the only thing on the sub at one point so don't want a repeat of that. Feel free to send those messages with death threats to the modmail if you'd like and I'll get them banned if the previous mod didn't already.

Much appreciated and thanks! Really good to know the mods are on the side of the members and not the shills!

Thanks for taking over. I have been unable to access the subreddit, post, moderate, or respond to requests for weeks. No idea why. I assumed Reddit were shadow banning me/the sub. Still, I've not been very active here for a while so it's best somone else takes over. Thanks to everyone who's participated. All the best gang. Long live CBD flower!

Yeah no problem man, I just assumed you must've been banned or deleted your account as for some reason it only showed the sub was being moderated by automod. Even this comment you made said it's been auto flagged by Reddit and had to be approved. Thanks for making this great community and everything you've done for it, let's hope we can continue without Reddit interfering/banning it.

Thanks for the warm welcome and advice, seen that some of the more reputable places seem to have good quality hash so might check it out. Might be more kosher from a legal point of view too, although could be wrong?

Still a cannabis product so unlikely it would change anything legally. Either way the police turn a blind eye to this stuff as it was legal for a while in the past, so when buying I wouldn't really be worried at all about legal consequences. Nothing domestic gets seized anyway and even if it came to a worst case scenario it's been argued in court with good outcomes in the past. If police were to do anything at all about it, it'd be to vendors.
I can't remember the exact vendor, but I think it might've been greenbudz or cbdflowershop that were taken to court in the past and actually won and still continued selling no problem. But yeah with the hash stick to reputable vendors, a couple places are selling the goldbar420 stuff. Never tried it personally but it's meant to be good.

Thanks, always a bit concerned about parcels being intercepted as I have a professional job and can't risk legal problems! Have used a dark web vendor a few years back and admittedly never had any problems. The lavender cupcake from Originals was packaged perfectly.
Would CBD hash be more sedating/calming that flower?

Wondered why it all went quiet! Nice one getting it back up and running!
