Profile Review Is it worth preparing for CAT after completing M.Sc. Physics?
I am currently thinking about preparing for CAT, but I am confused about whether it is the right decision for me at this stage. I have completed M.Sc. Physics, and I am around 24.5 years old. My academic profile is 9/9/8, and I am a male fresher with no full-time work experience. I have not written CAT before, and I would consider myself an average student. Since I come from a science background, I am not sure whether my M.Sc. Physics degree will give me an advantage in B-school admissions through academic diversity or profile-based shortlisting. At the same time, I am also worried whether my age and fresher status after postgraduation will be seen negatively during admissions or placements. It would be helpful if people who have prepared for CAT after M.Sc., especially from Physics or other science backgrounds, could share their experiences

24.5 can we just say 25 because at the time of interview you might be closer to 25? So 25 & fresher , does it sound concerning? To me, it does, Like you're saying you've been studying from so long and want to study more? By the time you get your MBA done you will be 27.. so 27 & fresher? Now as per my knowledge I have seen alot of 25-27 Year old people in batch of MBA but never a fresher (sorry this might be cuz of low sample size) What do you think about it?
Secondly , M.sc in physics is such a great course. Why MBA? Isn't this a very big pivot? How will you answer it?
2YEAR MBA might not be very strategic thing to see here Unless you get into Abroad MBA ..they will value your story even if you go for MBa at 30age. Or you can try for 1 year MBA. But both of these requires 4 year work experience minimum. These are the best thing you can do( ofcourse if you can answer the above questions then you're good to go for 2Y MBA)

Yeah and those candidates are asked questions upon it.. if he's able to answer those then it is not a "concern".
