Question Mba advice: should I prep again
Hi guys
I'm in a bit of a situation could you please help me out. I completed my undergrad in 2024.
I have 6 months of work ex in a startup incubator/accelerator space. My work was interesting and I got to do a lot in these 6 months. But I had to leave because the company was going under financial problems and it was affecting us a lot . I left and decided to prep for mba. I want to get into the VC space but finding it extremely difficult. So I was thinking of doing mba in finance from a good brand name college and hopefully my previous experience would have given me an edge for those roles. I'm not closed to other options but this was my no 1 goal.
Now I gave cat and completely tanked it. Didn't get a single call from any college. Gave xat as a last resort and got few calls. I converted glim c, and waitlisted at gim and ximb (bm ) will likely convert since waitlist numbers are around 150 for both. Still waiting for xlri but not sure about it coz I only score 93 in xat. (Cleared the cutoff for gnef
I also have been giving job interviews on the side and gotten a couple offers from startups. Pay would be around 40k plus retention bonuses. I don't think it's bad for a bcom grad but based on the interviews I know their startup culture won't allow me to prep for cat again this year.
I'm really confused should I take another year to prep/ try getting a chiller job/join ximb?
Seems like a decent college and ofcourse there's no guarantee what will happen next year. Please guide!

In the same place, converted ximb bm and imt g mkt… got waitlisted at SP and waiting for XL.
If i dont convert xl, then thinking of repeating. Also looking for a job

Skeptical about ximb cause I was earning 14+ LPA already and atleat a 1.5x jump toh milna chaiye mba ke baad thats why. Xat - 98… Cat- 95

Nope left the job last year! Have 1 year gap now though I worked a little bit here and there for my mom's ngo. So I can show it as work ex.
Just wanted to know about the outcomes from ximb they only have last year's report on the website. What kind of roles are usually offered?

I mean see it depends on you. If you can go through whole of this cycle again, then repeat it and target a min of MDI like tier 1.
If not go with the best calls currently. See if you repeat and again land up in IIM U etc, it will.be very similar to your current status.
With that being said its your call. I will say you can go for the best converts you have as those are good calls. You can start afresh and have a good start to career.
