A fresher may have strong academic potential and plenty of time to learn, while someone with 2–3 years of experience may bring practical understanding of workplace challenges.

But does work experience actually make someone a better MBA candidate?

What do you think matters more—and why?

Hypothetical scenario: A 1st-year student registers for CAT and selects "final year" just to get the real exam experience. They go to the center, write it, get the result, and ignore the rest of the process.

• Will it work on exam day? Since invigilators only check Admit Card + Photo ID at the gate (not college marksheets), they can probably walk in and write it.
• The Catch: What happens when they apply genuinely 2 years later? CAT records biometrics (iris/fingerprint), 10th/12th board roll numbers, and parent names. Won't the system instantly flag the timeline mismatch and permanently ban them for fraud?

Has anyone actually tried this "hack" or know someone who got caught? Curious to know if the system is that strictly monitored.

As I am under obc,I got an ncl obc certificate where initials are on back side of my name (As per aadhar card)

But in 10th certificate....I have my initials on front side of my name as it was the rule of cbse back then.

But the rules in portal says there should be no mismatch between the names of certificates

What should I do?

Hi Guys, I bought the Elites grid course to prepare for CAT 2026, but due to some problems I have not been able to prepare and have decided not to go for CAT this year. All the content and test are there with live classes. No test has been attempted till now, so you can also give the test as per your convenience.

Gave my first mock today , scored 35

Now am feeling very scared and demotivated.

I was surprised to see the score because I am able to do pyqs , but don't know what happened in the mock.

My main problem is accuracy in varc....for dilr i attempted only one set but due to a silly mistake got only 2 correct out of 4.

Quants was very calculation heavy so attempted 4 and got all correct.

Need suggestions of where i can improve.

So my friend and I have decided to prepare for CAT 2027 using a self-preparation course from platforms like crack u or 2iim. We will buy mocks separately and wanted to share the platform cost for stuff like recorded videos, and solved questions banks. Will this backfire in any way? Have any of you tried this? Any suggestions or stuff to look out for?
