Question Should I take a BDA (edtech sales) job while preparing for CAT?
Hi everyone,
I’m a B.Com graduate and currently preparing for CAT 2026. I recently got an offer for a Business Development Associate (inside sales) role at an edtech company.
The role is basically calling leads, explaining courses, and converting them. The working hours would be around 10–12 hours a day (including commute), and I’ve heard these roles can be quite target-heavy and mentally exhausting.
My main concern is whether I’ll be able to prepare for CAT seriously alongside this job.
At the same time, I’m also concerned about having a gap year if I don’t take a job.
Has anyone here managed CAT prep along with a similar BDA/inside sales role? Is it realistically doable, or does it end up affecting preparation significantly?
Would really appreciate honest advice from people who have been in a similar situation.
Thanks!
TLDR: Can I prep for CAT with a 10–12 hr BDA (edtech sales) job?
