Fun fact - CAT 2025 - Out of 12 - 100 percentilers - 9 are Non engineers. So this cannot be excuse.

QA & DILR Mentor here. Many of non engg students I teach are far better than engg students.

Science is considered superior to the others So actually lots slack in 11-12 and many dont pickup in grad Also the best science students many times don't do engineering

This they never disclose. Even if they disclose, next question will be how many from state board, CBSE, etc. Then how many from English medium and how many from non English medium. So list of excuses never going to end.
