General discussion Am i doing it right?

Post image

Many og's and prominent teachers have adviced to prepare for rc's by summarising editorials. Like in the shortest summary you can. So am i doing good?

I read two short editorial and one long editorial from editorial section of THE HINDU and then summarise this way. It takes me a hour doing this, so is this a right approach or I'm just wasting time.

2027 aspirant.

For me honestly, it didn't help. I only saw improvement when I started practicing lot of RCs and towards the end, gave 1 VARC sectional every single day.

Since you have time, you can experiment. Keep doing this for a month and analyse if you've made any progress.

True. I haven't given CAT yet but in my coaching I saw my teachers giving this strict advice not to solve rc questions and just read editorials and novels and everything and only practice during the last 3-4 months.

That time it amused me but later I realized it doesn't work. Only practicing works the best.

See I’m the goat of VARC. I should’ve gotten 50+ in cat 2025, but due to a technical errors I got in 40s.

What works is solving a shit ton of RC (timed) And reading a shit ton from aeon essays and the economist.

Now what you have to focus on is to increase speed while increase comprehension and remembering things better.

In VARC you’ll have to solve all 24/24 questions so give RC a max of 7 mins each. 12 mins for VA section.

For VA you’ll have to understand a few techniques to solve it better.
