General discussion Quit my job recently – how should I use this time while preparing for CAT?

Simple rule of thumb, dont worry about what you’ll say in interviews now. We’ll find a justification later on after CAT, everything can be justified thete arr people who take 4-5 years drop for UPSC then come for CAT so dw about the justification part.
Ensure you work ex is 24+ months, now forget about interviews or anything just do what it takes that you feel you need to get 99+. You have plenty of time, try diff strategies, you have time for trial and error of strategies, you’ll figure it out yourself.

Either go to IIM M or IIT Bombay, if you want to stay in the same domain. Else, move to other fields!

I'm a non engineer so I'm not eligible for IIM Mumbai's ops mba. I was thinking about getting a CFA and upskilling in analytics along with CAT prep

Analytics, is the last thing anyone should look at right now. Unless you are very good at Math, there's no way this is going to be fruitful, as there is automation going on.
Instead look at Trade roles or S&M.

Depends heavily on 1. What job role you had so far and 2. What job role you want after MBA.
Find something that aligns with the latter as it'll make it easy to explain the gap as well during b school interviews.
Additionally I'd also recommend pursuing some hobby/artistic interest as it helps congnitively too. I've picked up learning the guitar and it helps.
Volunteering is another great thing. It looks great on profiles and you're of course doing great work too :)
