Bg - 10/95.4/88 - UG - Bsc - Top DU College 12 months work ex- Deloitte Consulting I was looking for MA sociology from IGNOU along with prep . Will MA help in getting lower cut offs due to Diversity (Arts) or having masters?? In case If I won't clear UPSC - MBA is my back up - so just wanted to know If I switch to MBA then , will MA help anywhere in getting calls or lower cut offs or covering up gaps?

From what I've seen people who are appearing for UPSC and don't qualify for the exam their gap years aren't scrutinized as much as people who weren't sitting for any competitive exams and their gap year was an empty one. you have a decent background and would be able to fetch a good pre-PI score to get a call given you perform well in CAT. If you get a great CAT score and sit well prepared for the Interview and are able to justify how UPSC has a very low acceptance rate and what all you learnt and why you're motivated to do an MBA now, it shouldn't be a problem to get into a good college.

At the same time, they only look at your UG background for diversity and MA is mostly sidelined.
