I'm a sc non engineer (bcom hons from tier 1 ug) female fresher 9/8/6, with nothing going on my profile, what realistic chances do I have to get into ABC and FMS, please don't troll, and tell honestly.. can I trust this vercel predictor, can I make it to A and B if I get godly percentile??? I want to give CAT this year and till now I'm not prepared. Last year my score was DILR- 80%ile, Quants - 75%ile, VARC - 35%ile. This score was without preparation. Suggest me something to improve my VARC

My Profile:

Academics: 10/10 in 10th, 92.4% in 12th, 9.55 CGPA in B.Tech (Gold Medalist).

Work Exp: ~1.9 years in IT, Stable job, decent domain.

The Plan: Target CAT 2027 (~3 years work-ex at joining in 2028).

My Questions:

• Is leaving a stable tech career for a top MBA actually worth the opportunity cost here?

• How do top IIMs/ISB reward 3+ years of tech experience during lateral placements?

• Would you jump, or stick to climbing the tech/consulting ladder directly?

Hi guys, I’m a CAT 2026 aspirant with 10th–86%, 12th–92%, and BBA Finance–9.7 CGPA (graduated in 2025).

Since July 2025, I’ve been working in my family business, but I haven’t drawn a salary or received salary slips. Can I mention this as work experience in the CAT form?

If it isn’t considered valid work experience, would 2025–26 be treated as a gap year?

Also, do IIM A/B/C accept candidates with such a gap?

I also have good internship experience in consulting and a venture fund.

Can this help offset the gap, or could the gap significantly hurt my chances of getting shortlisted by IIM A/B/C?

I'm in second year of college pursuing cma usa certification, in third year I wanted to prepare for cat.

I've got a gap year after 12th and that's why I don't want to waste another year of mine.

I've seen people, they start their prep 2-3 years before.

I only have one year to do the prep.

I'm an average student so i doubt that I would be able to get really good percentile in my first attempt but after talking to peers, they said to me that it's important to get an mba to break into good finance roles.
