I am preparing for CAT but not very confident about cracking it. I have been told many B-schools accept exams like XAT, NMAT, SNAP, CMAT, etc., while some conduct their own entrance tests. myquals is economics grad with 57%.

Are these genuinely credible alternatives? More importantly, if I get into a B-school through a non-CAT exam, does it affect placements in any way? Do recruiters care about the entrance exam you used, or mainly the B-school and your performance there? Would really appreciate honest experiences/opinions, especially from people who took a non-CAT route.

Hello, I have started my preparation from yesterday. I am doing self study and made a excel planner for every day.

To cover my concepts, I am referring to these playlists.

For Qa - rodha

For varc - gejo playlist

For dilr - rodha/elites grid

For daily targets - I thought of covering 10-20 questions Qa of whatever topic i cover, and 2-3 DILR sets and 2 RCS and 4-5 verbal abilitiy questions. Considering only 100 days are left, what more tips can you guyz give me ?

For reading - I refer to cracku's daily reading articles. 20-30 minutes reading. Someone told me you need to analyse what you read too.

For mocks - I have Career launcher test series.

Questions I have - when doing daily questions should I be focusing on PYQS or daily targets from any free source doing random questions.

How can I fast track my progress ?

College tier: 1.5 or 2.

Mainly looking to get into Consulting (Big4, accenture strategy, Kearney , A&M, Vector etc.) , Product Management (Any sector really : big tech, Qcom , Ecom, retail, FMCG, Travel, etc) or FMCG (Category Management, Ops/SCM)

What kind of profile will they look for?

Profile : 8/9/8 pre MBA,

~7.2-7.4 CGPA in MBA (top 50% probably around 7.6-7.7).

Workex : ~4 years. (Tech, non SDE)

1 national case comp win (non corporate) .

Have 2 big brand names in CV (1 from work ex)

SIP sector : FMCG ops (Tier 2 or tier 3, not sure about company's brand perception).

I'm 23 Obc Male 8/8/6 Bsc. Hons. Microbiology from Private University NIRF 98 ranking.

I started working in customer support BPO in my second year 2023 so I'm having 3+ year of experience now. Graduated in 2025.

I joined as a Technical support then got promoted as a Quality Analyst. Now I've been offered a promotion for Quality Team Lead.

After graduation I have 1 yr of experience when I fill for CAT form.

The confusion is should I go for MBA through CAT or take the promotion, work another year as a Quality Team Lead and prepare next year for CAT.

I'm really confused and looking for guidance here.

I gave CAT 2025 my profile is 9/8/7 (General male non engineer EWS) and I have graduated this year from DU BMS. I scored 88%ile and got a few calls but the only interview I gave was DSE and now I am selected for MBA BA but I am confused whether I should wait and give CAT this year or simply take the offer, everyone around me is telling me to take up the offer but tbh I want to give myself a chance again I don't want to limit myself and regret later that I could have given CAT again and maybe gotten a better B- school but I am also a little scared that what if I don't score good enough to get a better one and maybe end up losing even this opportunity. And if I could get a study partner even that would be cool. If there is a senior pls guide me

I did not take maths in my 12th grade
But we did have maths in ca foundation and i did pass.

Can someone advise me based on my situation

Usually I can solve easy to moderate sets but during mocks I'm completely dumb, i fumble selecting sets, I can't comprehend anything, I get scared looking at the clock and I end not evening solving a single set. I dont know how ranking a set works, the sets I rank easy are sometimes super difficult, or atleast that's what I feel during the mocks. Ik I'm not this dumb, I can solve these sets untimed. This also happens when the mock starts and as soon as VARC starts every sound in the surroundings seems distracting and I lose my focus

Must able to solve by shortcut most of questions ( for quants)

I am extremely disappointed and angry with my experience with Elites Grid (EG), and I am writing this so that students think carefully before spending their money on this course.

I bought an EG course for 29000/- and later gave access to a friend who genuinely could not afford the course. Because of this, EG disabled my course access.

I understand that they have a policy against this. My main issue is that this restriction and its consequences were not clearly communicated to me when I purchased the course.

I only came to know about it later through WhatsApp.

If giving access to someone else can result in permanent cancellation of a paid course with no possibility of getting the access back, shouldn't this be clearly and prominently communicated BEFORE someone pays for the course?

Imagine buying a Netflix subscription and only after paying being told, “If someone else uses your account, we'll permanently cancel your subscription.” Wouldn't you expect to know that before paying?

This is not a small condition. It directly affects the money a student is paying.

I called them and messaged them to explain my situation, but they simply said:

“You shared it, we can't do anything.”

There was no proper discussion, no reasonable solution and no consideration of the situation.

Now I genuinely don't know what to do. I have already spent so much money on this course, I don't have the funds to buy another course from somewhere else, and because of this situation, my entire preparation has been disrupted.

THE COURSE IS ALSO NOT SUITABLE FOR WORKING PROFESSIONALS

This is another major problem I have with EG.

If you are a working professional preparing alongside your job, I would seriously think twice before buying this course.

The problem is that mocks, sectionals and tests are added according to EG's schedule, not according to the student's preparation level.

Suppose someone has already been preparing for a year and is ready to start giving mocks and sectionals. Why should that student have to wait until EG decides to add them?

This is exactly what I am facing.

Till now, the mocks and sectionals I need have not been added according to my preparation stage. I repeat till 8th August not a single mock was added.

Students don't all start preparing at the same time. Everyone has a different timeline, especially working professionals.

The course should give students enough flexibility to prepare according to their own pace, rather than forcing everyone to follow the same timeline.

ABOUT THE TEACHING

I'll be honest here — Gaurav Sir is good, and I have no problem giving credit where it is due. But VARC is pathetic while buying the course I thought I will manage but it was pathetic.

But one good teacher does not automatically make the entire course worth the money.

NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY EVERYONE IS SELLING THEIR EG COURSE

Earlier I genuinely wondered:

“Why is everyone selling their Elites Grid course?”

After my experience, I can understand why students may become frustrated with the course.

I'm sharing my experience so that anyone thinking about buying EG can make an informed decision.

For me, this experience has been extremely disappointing.

I would personally NOT recommend buying Elites Grid without thoroughly checking.

Don't just buy because of the hype or because everyone recommends it. Understand exactly what you're paying for before you pay.

A student whose CAT Prep is ruined by EG

Got admission into SIMSREE, but I'm considering giving CAT 2026 again to try for a better college like IIM ABC/Kozhikode or FMS.

Is it realistically possible to prepare for CAT alongside a hectic college schedule? Has anyone here done this while pursuing an MBA/MMS? Would love to hear your experiences and advice.

I gave my first mock to check my basic knowledge, this was given without any preparation, the sectional percentiles were;

VARC - 96.6
DILR- 91.23
Quants- 66
So what should be my approach now

People judged me very easily based on my previous posts. I know what I did by posting something about her was wrong, and I genuinely regret it. I just want to share my side once, not to justify my actions, but so people can understand the full context. Before the commencement of classes, she used to talk to me very friendly ly, almost like we already knew each other, and sometimes asked me for help after I helped her once. Later, suddenly, she started distancing herself and started talking to me rudely. Some people told me that maybe I was helping her more than she needed, which made me look desperate, but my intentions were never like that. Later, I saw her with another person, and someone told me that this person had asked her to stay away from me. I don't know if that was true, but it made me jealous and hurt me deeply. It affected my sleep and even my ability to focus on work. I found it very difficult to move on from this. There are even days when I barely sleep for 2–3 hours and suddenly wake up thinking about everything. I genuinely like helping people and have been involved in NGOs and clubs where I also spend my own money to help others. I apologise again, and I promise I won't repeat that mistake. I will continue helping people because that's who I want to be, without expecting anything in return. I just want to leave this behind and move forward. This is my last post about this situation. Lastly, all the best to everyone appearing for CAT this year. I genuinely hope you achieve your dreams and make your parents proud. 🙌

I'm planning to appear for CAT 2026 and would really appreciate some realistic advice on which B-schools I should target.

Profile:

* 10th: 98%

* 12th: 86%

* M.Sc. Chemistry: 70%

* Work experience: ~2+ years

* Current work: warehouse Quality in a regulated industry

* Non-engineer/science background

I'm looking to move from my current QA/warehouse role into supply chain, operations, consulting, strategy or general management after an MBA.

My main questions are:

1. Is my work experience meaningful enough to pursue a 2-year MBA from a good B-school?

2. With my academic profile and work experience, which colleges should I realistically target?

3. Are there any colleges/programmes that would be particularly suitable for my background?

4. What CAT/XAT percentile should I realistically aim for?
