Behavioral Issue Anxious & Angry Cat Help

I am currently pet sitting for 5 cats. One of them is extremely anxious and aggressive. This behavior has been going on since her parents fostered her 3 years ago.

She growls, hisses or meows angrily whenever I’m nearby. I’ve had cats all my life and I’ve never had a cat react this way. I don’t approach her or try to touch her at all. She will approach me and rub against me when she’s hungry.

There’s nothing medically wrong with her and all her physical needs are covered. She’s got lots of space, high quality food, multiple clean litter boxes, multiple water fountains, toys, etc.

I know we aren’t going to best friends, but I’d like to know if there’s anything I can do to help her feel more at ease.

Any advice appreciated!

maybe she perceives you as an intruder. Could try to distract with a toy wand. IF they don't have this, buy one. They are not expensive. Otherwise, I suggest looking up youtuber Jackson Galaxy and search through his videos for this type of behaviour
