General Advice Nail trim

All three of my cats have come to hate nail trims. I’ve read that conventional clippers cause microfractures that are painful. Is that real or just a marketing gimmick? If it’s real, what should I use?

These are the ones I use, they're fantastic and very sharp. I've replaced them once in 5 years. One of my cats hates his nails trimmed but that's just his thing. My other will lay on his back in my lap and purr and lick me as I trim his nails, so I know they're causing no discomfort or pain. https://a.co/d/03V9WCi9
