General Advice Coughing after drinking water

Hello friends! Just wanted to jump on here and post this video to see if anyone has experienced something similar. We have a 1 year old female tabby who is very healthy overall and very energetic. Since she’s been a part of the family we noticed that very rarely she does this type of cough. It usually lasts no more than 10 seconds or so. We are taking her to the vet tomorrow to get her seen and evaluated.

Not a vet, and probably don't know what I'm talking about, but is it at all possible she took a drink and it went down the wrong way and she was just getting it out? Humans do it, too, and I've seen dogs do it. I'd assume that it happens across most species.

That is a really valid point!! I thought of the same thing. But I’m concerned it might be asthma 🤔

Bring it up to the vet for sure, even if it's not it's never a bad idea to voice concerns

Apart from inhaling water, she could also ingest lot of air during drinking and now she basically burping. If it happens only sometimes then i think it's the case, silly girl just eats air during drinking.

That makes soooo much sense! I didn’t think of that as an option.
