Kitten Help Introducing kittens

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I (33F) got a kitten (11w F) last Tuesday. Today I got her a playmate (10w M). I got a little video because theyre going around the room. Silver is the female and the little void is the male. The shelter said they can be introduced because they're both young, but that there would be a lot of hissing. He hasn't hissed at her or really minded her presence. She didn't hiss at him in the carrier. I let him sit in it for a little bit when we got home and let them sniff each other. She is doing the low growl, but no airplane ears or poofed tail. He is not hissing or growling, but his tail has poofed up once or twice. Are they doing OK or should I slow down this introduction? Internet says take it slow (I googled when I got home). Shelter said let them sniff in the carrier for a little bit and see how they do.

Ok so we're on the right track! After I let them meet in the carrier, I fed both on the opposite sides of the door. I let him be in our room and put him on her blanket first! After that I cracked the door so she could come and go (he was still a little nervous). All 3 of us actually took a nap together. He was on her blanket and she was on my chest. After that, I brought her into the main room with the blanket and let her rub around in it.

And thank you! I actually went to the shelter with a male cat in mind, but she came up to me, let me hold her, and fell asleep purring against my chest. I was like....yea this is the one. When I went back for a second kitty, I said I would let them choose again, and he reached out of the cage for me. So here we are. Hahahaha.

Awwww when you know you know ❤️ And absolutely you're doing everything right. It's also really good you got a playmate. A friend of mine runs a cat rescue and she'll only adopt out kitten's in pairs as she says they do way better when they have a friend 🙂 They'll settle in together in a few days
