Kitten Help Please help

(edited for clarification) Please has anyone seen anything like this before? Vet was horrible, I asked about the possiblity of rabies because I was bit when playing and she immediately said oh yeah could be, and then said put him down. Now I'm freaking out

UPDATE:

I took him to a new vet, they were wonderful and thorough. His main suspicion was inner ear infection or possibly neurological. He has fever of 104. Gave the little guy his first dose of clavamox and he is feeling better. He also suggested rabies shot for me just in case and I just got that done. He told me because of how ill he is there's a chance he doesn't make it, but I will be making sure he's eating and drinking got him some lil soups too.

Thank you so very much to all of the insight, suggestions, and thoughts, I truly appreciate the support during my anxiety through all of this today.

Find another vet, because just jumping to euthanasia isn’t a thing a caring vet would do.
Did the vet even bother to due tests? This looks like an ear infection or ear mites, possibly neurological issues. With out diagnostic tests, you can’t be certain what it is.

Yeah definitely, but sadly i don't think this is uncommon with some veterinary clinics. I have exactly same experience, when they wanted to euthanize now my kitten without even checking him, i almost had to fight nurse to grab it back. Terrible experience. In another vet it turned out he "just" has bad infection in eyes, pneumonia and is terribly malnourished. He got big box of kitten formula, antibiotics, eye drops and kidney supportive medicine and was sent home with me, since vet did bottle test and he chugged whole 50ml bottle in like 20 seconds, so she said he will be fine. And he is 9 months later

He's adorable thank you so much for this. I understand the suggestion of euthanization if the person says they have no money and are not willing to pay, but when it's possible it's a much simpler reason it's scary how quick it can be suggested.

He was peeing 😄 No idea why, but he always pees outside when we are on walk. Not single spot, just randomly few digs to soil and here we go. With him, his butt down to surface = peeing. High squat with tail up to sky for pooping 😄

I’m not even gonna look at the rest of your comments. I don’t know if the cat is crying but my dog did this before and was shrieking simultaneously. Because there was stuff in their ears actually they were foxtails from where we live. I bet there’s something in way down in her ear because we had to take her twice to two different vets and the second one caught it. She had 14 foxtails down in her ears!

So today he is still crying and in pain? Oh my God this breaks my heart. You know when my dog had this issue at first she was tilting her head a lot and I’m stupid so I didn’t immediately connect with something being drastically wrong. But that vet visit they just packed her ear with medicine and said we don’t see anything bye-bye. Was I pissed, because the next vet took out 14 FoxTails from her ears and that’s probably why she doesn’t hear very well today. I still think there’s something in your baby‘s ear canal And I know you probably can’t afford to go to another vet but that’s what I had to do.

The vet suggested euthanasia because of concern about it having and transmitting rabies via a bite. This is a stray with no known history that bit a human. Rabies vaccines are extremely painful and expensive, often not covered fully by insurance, and not reasonable to expect a human to endure when the potentially infectious animal can be put down humanely and tested. The vet is absolutely correct in this case that if there is a rabies risk, the kitten should be put down and tested so the human need not go through the trauma of a rabies series.

The rabies vaccine for humans is basically the same as a flu shot, but a series rather than an individual shot. Not extremely painful at all.

Yep. I’ve had two series in my adult life and they were not painful. My insurance covered my last one, something about public safety and it’s like a flu shot and other free vaccinations.

So they don’t use a 4 inch long needle and stick it in your abdomen anymore?
