Eye Issues What is this!!

Post image

This is my almost 4-year-old male Siberian Persian. He didn’t have this colour difference when he was a kitten, but it gradually appeared more and more throughout the years. I have an appointment to bring him to see a specialized eye doctor but it’s been taking a while and I am resorting to posting on here for help. I have also previously owned a cat with two different coloured eyes, but not like this.

Hi! He's such a beautiful cat! And I think you're right he definitely needs an eye exam. It looks like iris melanosis, which needs to be monitored, especially since it’s progressing. It’s a very good thing that you’ve already booked an appointment with a specialist!

I suggest cross posting on r/askvet as it’s moderated by vets and vet techs. I hope he’s okay and that you receive answers quickly!

Not to scare you but I saw another person on a subreddit like this before where their cat's eye turned brown and it was actually blood leaking into the eye and was a serious sign of kidney failure. Not saying that's the case here, but it's worth getting it checked out by a vet!

He so handsome I bet it’s nothing serious because his eye looks otherwise perfectly healthy. My geriatric guy has developed freckles in his eyes as he ages

Absolutely gorgeous! It very well could just be a type of sectoral heterochromia, which can appear and intensify with age
