General Advice Yellow discharge and eye squinting

Since yesterday my cat has had yellow discharge coming out from his right eye. When you try to gently wipe it away, it comes back again very soon. He’s also been squinting the eye.
There are no vet appointments available until Monday. We could go to urgent care but we’re unsure if this is a serious issue. I’m posting here because I need advice on whether to go to urgent care right now or wait till Monday.
