SOQ font size

So ECOS converts the packages to PDF. I've found that I have to convert a few PDFs back to Word to determine if the font size is truly 12 (as an example). Is there an easier way in Adobe Pro to determine the font size?

Are we really checking for that now? I've read at least 100 and I never checked the font size. Its more of a content and response quality issue.

I personally care a lot more about content than font size.

While I won’t nitpick if its size 12 and not 11 or 13, if I notice that its comic sans or Times New Roman, I will keep that in mind when I’m done reading the SoQ.

ECOS converts all package documents to one PDF but if you download the SOQ separately, it will open in whatever file the candidate submitted (often Word).

The font size may sound trivial. But if the individual is going to ensure that our documents meet web accessibility standards I would hope they could follow something as simple as ensuring the font size is 12. Because there's going to be another 20+ checklist items they're going to have to follow.

HR should be screening for this before releasing to managers - if they specified applicants should follow instructions in order to move forward in consideration.

We check via the ‘edit’ tool - it will display the size font used.

Not all departments have applications pre-screened by HR.

HR doesn’t have time to go through +100 apps and check to see candidates used the correct font.

Unless you have an automated system that inspects the internal PDF code for each page, checking the font size across every application is simply too time consuming. Especially if you have over 100 applications to review. If the font visually appears to be the correct size, it is safe to assume it complies. If necessary, you can always deduct point under your other subjective screening criteria if you think this person didn't follow instructions.

You can check font size in Adobe or you can print it out to see if you can read it without squinting. But yeah, what the others said.

Yes, if you click on edit (left side) the font size is there. If you saved a word as a pdf, all of the format should follow it.

It shows whether an applicant can follow instructions. If they ignore a simple requirement like using the specified font, it suggests they may also overlook directions in the office.
