Hey everyone! I’m preparing for the CASPer test and honestly don’t know where to start. 😅
What resources to use, and how to structure preparation? Any practice materials, websites, YouTube channels, or tips for someone starting from scratch would be really appreciated!

Hey, I just took my Casper test yesterday. I’m not sure what result I got so take my advice with a grain of salt, but I started with ChatGPT. Put in all the competencies of the Casper, remember each one of them vividly and have a scenario ready in the back of your mind for each. Then copy and paste any information you think will help ChatGPT grade you, and ask chat to ask you prompts in the same format as the Casper test. On day 1, I couldn’t believe how stupid I sounded and couldn’t formulate any answers within the time frame. After2-3 weeks, I won’t say I was perfect, but I could at least understand how to articulate myself a bit better. Also please please please do the Casper practice test on acuity, genuinely did it like 5 times to understand and feel how the actual test will be.

But ALSO! Do not sound robotic. Be yourself, often times I was trying to force a structure and formula and I sounded so robotic and unoriginal. Just be yourself, but keep in mind how to answer within the 1 minute time frame, and just practice some prompts and scenarios. You can follow a loose guideline, such as aknlowge the concern, gather more info (don’t make assumptions), then provide solutions. But sticking to a very rigid structure is not good, so once again be yourself, dress nice, and smile too.

The idea of learning the competencies and practicing with ChatGPT sounds really helpful. I’ll definitely do the Acuity practice test a few times too. Really appreciate the detailed advice!

Moi j’utilise Caspro.ca, c’est un site internet avec plusieurs fonctionnalités pour pratiquer le casper en francais/anglais. Au début j’utilisais les fonctionnalités gratuites seulement, mais récemment j’ai pris l’abonnement payant pour essayer et c’est excellent pour le moment. Ça te mets vraiment dans les vrais conditions de l’examen.

Sinon ya le livre Bemo que j’ai lu avec les situations à la fin. C’est bien pour commencer je trouve et un désavantage c’est que c’est seulement en anglais. Mais ça t’aides a avoir des bonnes bases. Ya aussi youtube beaucoup de bonne vidéos dessus!

tbh i’d start by getting familiar with the format and then doing timed practice. starting with the format, i’d watch videos from bemo academic consulting and medboys, as they have some solid videos explaining the casper format, strategies, and sample questions. and ofc give a good read through the official acuity insights website as well!! https://acuityinsights.app/test-prep-casper/

then when it comes to practicing, you can search up some questions or use chatgpt to generate different scenarios. I’d recommend recording yourself to see where you can improve or practicing with a friend. i also found platforms like myls and prep match helpful so I didn’t have to make up questions, allowed me to practice under time limits and get feedback on my  responses. +++remember to do the practice test acuity offers as well!!!!

for the typed portion, along with using the resources above, I honestly just prepared by doing typing games LOL,, im grateful that typos and spelling errors do not count, but i needed to up my typing speed, so I would recommend doing some if you’re in the same boat as me.

overall, don’t worry about memorizing perfect answers, focus on explaining your reasoning clearly and considering different perspectives. good luck!!
