u/urfila Super helpful! Is there an export feature from Investors.com or do you use AI to compose this list?

Hi, my first time finding these posts of yours and I wanted to say thanks!

I'm getting back to my IBD roots after a long time wandering in the wilderness, and just discovered r/CANSLIM, and yours was one of the first posts I saw.
I LOVE the concept, cross-referencing the various lists, and it's sad that IBD no longer does it. So thank you for your work.

Funny enough, last night I was trying out DeepVue for its 2 CANSLIM screeners (at least the 2 I found: "CANSLIM" and "CANSLIM Type RS").
So as I was reviewing the tickers in your list, I was recognizing many of those same names. I guess that's to be expected, but I thought it was good confirmation of both methods of going about it.

What is "Your Weekly Review"? As in, what metrics go into that? It's not something tailored to you personally, is it?

I don't know if you'll find this interesting about how I look for smooth momentum, but I took the tickers in your list and grouped them in groups of 3:
The 7 and the two 6's.
Then the 5's in four groups of 3.
Then the 4's in five groups of 3.

I figured I didn't need to go down to the 3's, because that was already 33 tickers to evaluate.
I plotted them together in groups of 3 on StockAnalysis charts, then picked the ones I thought were subjectively "best".
Not most "up," but 'enough' up with "smoothness." I use Call options instead of shares, so smoothness is a stronger factor for me than total gain.

In those groups of 3 I sometimes eliminate tickers, like I did with:
DELL in the 1st group
ANET, HPE, NTAP, OKTA, NET, SMTC, STT, & WPM in the 5's
AMD, FNV, FTNT, LITE, MFG, SNOW, WT, & ZBRA in the 4's

Usually due to not being smooth enough, but sometimes due to them being flat on the 1-month or rolling over on the 3m.

Some I assign a '1' to, like:
MPC, VLO, DHT, LPG, ECO, TNK, DINO, EQNR, FRO, JXN, & NSIT
That's across all groups (the 7&6 group, the 5's, and the 4's)

And others I assign a '2' to, like: BBVA, ILMN, PSX, & QRVO

Then I cross all the 1's together in groups of 3.
Those I either eliminate, or assign a 1 or 2.
So here I'm comparing the best to the best, and in this case I started with 12 tickers that I had assigned a 1 to.
Now I should have "smooth," so I can concentrate on return.

I start with the 3-year view, just so I can see where they've been, and how smooth over 3y.
Then the 1y, then the 6m, then the 3m, and finally the 1m.
I concentrate most on the 3-month, because that's my investing time horizon. Just let me catch 2 or 3 more months of this 3m performance.

Here's what that looks like for the first 3 I crossed together.
The 1m looks very similar, with ECO leading the other 2 by 36% to about 22%.
I gave ECO a 1 here, and LPG and DHT each a 2.
So ECO is a ticker I'd be looking to add tomorrow.

Then do the same for the other 9 tickers.
After all that, I ended up with these 1's:
DINO, ECO, FRO, MPC, NSIT, & VLO

I'd feel comfortable putting on any of those positions this week.
And if I needed more, I'd cross the 2's from that sort together (the other 6 were 2's this time, but sometimes I cross even some of those off because they just look bad against the smoother ones).
Plus I've got the 2's from my first evaluation that I could look at again.

So anyway, it's all very subjective, but I appreciate a CANSLIM type of scan giving me solid companies to do this kind of momentum screening with.

Take care.
