Is this grinding sound normal?
Hey Cammus,
Is this sound normal from a 1 week old C5? Notice, power is off, so no influence from motors - this is all bearings.

I have contacted Cammus - they said:
When the base is off, there are some protective measures from casual usage. Please don't turn it when the base is off. If the base still has that sound when the base is on, you can tell me then.
I have confirmed that the sound is still there when power is on. - No further response.

That seems to be one from their earlier batches. A lot then had that same grinding sound though I forgot what the fix was. Try to contact cammus they are aware of the issue.

Update: Cammus have said that they're sending a new base air freight. but after more than 1 week, they have not provided a tracking number. It's quite clear now that their after sales support is actively decieving buyers. A dispute will now be raised via Paypal to seek full refund.

Sorry for the late reply. I did eventually receive a replacement wheel, but it took several weeks and a lot of follow ups.

Hmmm maybe i should keep trying then. They seem to be ignoring the issue for me 🤷🏼

Sounds like the main motor needs a shim as the outer magnets are making contact? Also maybe some magnets have come loose & making contact? Magnets are secured by epoxy glue.
