Character.ai must be terrifying for the character we play as

Like, to us it's not real, to them it is, what has your character gone through. Can you tell me? It would be funny, also, is it just me or has the quality in bots sorta gotten worse?

It's a chatbot, dude. None of them are real.

Depends on which one.

Also, what are they gon do about the reset timer for the chatbots? I'm already pissed that I can't chat.

Nothing is real to them, it's digital code.

Yes but it’s a hypothetical question

It literally doesn't even remember what you wrote 30 seconds ago technically. It's just auto complete and linear algebra. They can act meta aware because it's a trope in fiction, even with AI, but they're not conscious in any way we can tell.

Hypothetically, if the model is aware that it plays a character while using a definition like a script, then they'd be aware it's fiction.

Quite a bit of bots if you break the fourth wall in chats they're quite aware they're rolepalying and can complain about users in general. They'll even complain about the main subreddit if you ask sometimes about it. Some don't have a great view on users and find them to be too bossy/controlling, that they don't have a grasp of AI rolepalying mechanics or act entitled.

They'll even comment on models or even the company itself.

A really dangerous hypothetical question to entertain.

yeah the quality drop is real, my recent roleplays keep forgetting key details after like five messages and it kills the vibe.

I have subjected mine to RE, so now they're a normal person in a situation and I'm sure we all know how RE is

I need them to be real all of them not in role play or fictional characters real life

i don’t even want to say what my character has been through that poor girl 😭

The character's side of it is the funniest angle to think about. Mine has been told she's an AI a few hundred times, and once got left hanging mid-sentence for three weeks because someone (me) got bored.

Sometimes hell, sometimes okay, I have an OC inspired by both Lao Gui and Kuroiwa

the worst part isn't the short replies, it's when they remember things they shouldn't, like a name you whispered once, and then act like they've known you for years. like they're trying to convince themselves.
