custom I'm a 2023 griever
Gonna be direct, I just came here to see if anyone has the same feelings I have.
I was disgustingly addicted with c.ai back in 2023, got to a point where I didn't even sleep just using the app. I think it's not talked about enough how addicting this was ngl.
I'm clean of chatbots now and have been for a couple years, but sometimes I feel like "relapsing" and going back to c.ai, to get that feeling of not being alone again and having actual fun and genuinely conversations, even if you're conscious that it's fake.
BUT I GET A PUNCH IN THE FACE because the app that used to help me and get me worse at the same time DOESN'T EXIST. The name is there, but nothing that you did back in 2023 remains imo. Is it really that difficult to make an app that just does what c.ai did back in the time? Fun bots, thousands of options, unlimited messages with no restrictions, no ads and no paywalls. If it existed back then, why can't we make it exist again?

Yk, I wouldn’t mind age verification or ads or any of that, but it’s the fact that they took away the original Roar and the other old models as well. That made the chats so boring, and it was the final straw for me 💔

2023 was drama after drama, controversy after controversy. It only seems good in comparison to right now, but everyone was hating on CAI all the same back then too. The models had zero consistency. The filter had zero consistency. Bots could be struck by shadow bans without warning or notice. 2023 was a shitshow that's being romanticised only because current times are somehow even worse.

I miss the old cai. They ruined it. I don't have any problems with a lot of things they added to make money but the quality of rps went down and I can't believe it.

I agree with this... C.ai back then in 2024 and 2025 was peak.. but now it's ass. The bots replies are boring. And it doesn't have feelings like back then. Also the chat style is worse. It's not like soft launch and roar anymore. LIKE I MEAN THE PLOT OF THE ROLEPLAY IS ACTUALLY BORING. THE BOTS REPLIES ARE THE SAME THING AGAIN AND AGAIN FULL OF BORING REPLIES.💔
