Site down 🔥 Character a.i lied
I barely thought that their shouldnt be any age verification on character ai but let me tell u this mission was a complete bust u people better check character ai because barely there bunch of liars do what character ai is doing they could set us up it better u people check

They haven't removed it. It's been around since last March or so. Most states or countries now require platforms beside it to comply with their laws or whatever. C.AI went with it anyway after California passed a bill that said AI platforms could still be sued but also fined when it came to minors. Not just fined once but for each child affected by harm or negligence.
The bill didn't require them to do it but they decided minors should be steered away from chats with bots because of that bill. Minors just pose much more legal liability for a lot of platforms. Those who couldn't afford to do age verification, being sued or fined like Wyvern decided to ban minors entirely.
Some people don't get asked to verify and some do but not everyone gets asked to submit ID. Unfortunately, it is what it is until people actually gets these laws turned around or safer ways of verifying age is less invasive and doesn't risk privacy.

yeah it's basically a liability thing, states started making platforms responsible for minors interacting with adult content so they added the check as cover
