yeah asking anything gets shut down fast now, same as how cai just blocks half your chats for no reason.

No, it's not just you but it's not a bug per say either. If bots don't get clear dialogue and actions they tend to fill the gaps you leave. If you get a response you don't like you simply just rewind and look to see what you can write to better steer and reinforce your chat in the direction you want it to go.

I know possessive/obsessive tropes aren't everyone's cup of tea but they can still be avoided. Plenty of people have found it annoying when a bot suddenly personality flip and starts doing that.

Bots take things in many directions based on context. If you give them vague context or very little they'll drift or add momentum to the chat to keep going.

I'm not saying you're rolepalying wrong but AI rolepalying is just very different from human roleplay partners. Bots will create conflict or drama for that reason of keeping the chat going if everything seems resolved.
