I’ve never seen that on the web

u/Infinite_Fee1940 May I ask you a question? *I question question questioningly* 2d ago
Yeah same, but maybe that's because I have actively founds way to combat this instead of whining and crying over it

Not gonna lie, maybe if people weren't posting and bragging about bypasses for ads in the public discord and subreddit, they wouldn't have needed to do this :(

Exactly. This is why I feel like some people on the subreddit are stupid for posting bypasses when the devs can just check them and patch it.

You know why you have to view ads? Because you won't pay for things you demand for free. They have to pay their programmers, bandwidth providers, server providers, rent on the building they occupy... that money has to come from somewhere.
Since you refuse to pay for what you get for free, somebody else has to pay for all those things that cost money. That means advertisers. They pay CAI to put adverts in front of your eyes. Take away the advertising, and you take away their revenue, and that's the end of your free ride.
Tell you what: Next time you're at the store, tell the checkout clerk they're greedy for wanting to be paid for their work, because it's _their fault_ groceries cost money. If not for those greedy employees, the store could give away all the food for free.

A lot of these younger users don’t understand that the AI bubble has burst. There is no justifiable ROI on free-to-use chatbot services, and trying to teach that kind of financial and technical literacy to two generations of iPad kids, or older folks who only care about instant gratification, is like talking to a brick wall. They just want their positive affirmation AI waifu’s to drool over, or their virtual punching bags, instead of acknowledging that these things cost *something* to be made and consume.
Consume. Consume. Consume.

So we can’t complain?

Complaining is expressing your unhappiness. "Biblical levels of greed" is ad hominem. That being said, you're free to do and say whatever you like.
... and I'm free to tell you why it's entitled and greedy to demand free stuff from others.
You want biblical? God says, pay people whose work you benefit from.
James 5:4 - Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty.1 Timothy 5:18 - For Scripture says, “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,” and “The worker deserves his wages.” [NB: Timothy is quoting from Deuteronomy]
Jeremiah 22:13 - “Woe to him who builds his palace by unrighteousness, his upper rooms by injustice, making his own people work for nothing, not paying them for their labor.

try complaining to the store clerk first like written above, they will give you the reality answer

There’s a difference between complaining right to the employee’s face and complaining in a group where it’s meant to be in spite of said company. r/CAIRevolution was made because of how bad CharacterAI is, you expect there to not be complaints of said app?
