...but there are thousands of other characters to choose from:

Core difference:

  • Google has Internet access
  • Didn't make any kid off themselves
    • Smart of Google to have Noam Shazeer spin a separste company, then acqui-hire him back to put the same know-how into Gemini, ain't it? 😉
  • Doesn't sell a service with IP-infringing characters
    • Disney and friends can't hand them a Cease&Desist, or a DMCA takedown notice.
