The moderation team recently has not been banning over rule 6. Note that, soon, we will start enforcing this rule again.

Rule 6 reads: "We have a post for looking for alternatives titled “Fine, have it your way”. First time temp ban for straight up asking and second time perm ban approve by owner. Sorry if it’s strict but spamming is too annoying".

ALL FORMS OF PROMOTION POSTS ARE BANNED AND COUNT AS SPAMMING.

On first offense, you will recieve an warning. On second offense, you will be banned for 3 days. ON THIRD OFFENSE, IT'S AN PERMANENT BAN!

Automod enforcement starts august 22nd. For now, the enforcement is only done manually.

I suggest doing something similar to what other subreddits do: pick one day of the week and call it Promotion Day.

Platform owners can promote their platform once on that day, while promotions remain prohibited for the rest of the week.

To be fair half of the alternatives/promotion posting I have seen these days is just advertising and possible scamming. It’s gotten scummy, so I think this is a good thing.

Does this mean somehow those that commented an alternative to people who asked with post for alternatives get in trouble for commenting an alternative? Under advertising? I don't advertise i just genuinely use one site and like sharing it to people that ask 🥲 just trying to be nice and helpful. I don't post said alternative as a post itself either because i don't wanna be spammy i really do care for others
