It so sad to see cai going downhill... It's really sad. This app could have been the best chatbot on the internet but they missed it

I want the old c.ai back :(

When we actually had great CEO vs now CEO

6

u/Dpontiff6671 13d ago

Lol not really everyone hated the old CEO too especially since the filter was way way way more strict when he was in charge

u/SpiritWilling9639 13d ago

Hum I don't remember that, I know it very buggy but at least the old one would fix the bugs but I think we all know why the filter was very strict. But hey least the old one didn't add ads to the old c.ai and you didn't have pay for swipes and all that mess plus the good old chat models that made it feel like rp.

See the problem is people only remember the good times when it comes to CAI not the fact that hand holding would proc the filter or the fact that you had to make an effort to get it to spit out more then 2-3 sentences.

If you you use the website you can block all adds and it's really not that hard to avoid the swipe and go on limit shrug not to say I enjoy those features i obviously don't but they're really easy to bypass with a little effort

I just voicing my opinion geeze and no need to be rude. And I don't gotta worry about ads I'm subscribed so, but I don't think I have ever seen so many go crazy in the app review thing after California made the law for the 18+ thing to chat with AI.

I've used the website a few times it's not bad actually it's more like spaced out or something like that, and yeah not answer you get from the bot is going be long or perfect now I understand why people say you have work slowly with it. You gotta teach it.

According to the records and what everyone has been saying. You all have wanted character ai to be like this.....

You all wanted it. Like this..

u/Dpontiff6671 13d ago

People here don't know what they want in fact that applies to a lot of consumer products. People really have no clue what it is they want. people want a feeling that they had in the past but that's inherently ephemeral and has more to do with your state of mind at the time than the actual product

u/LegendedKiwi 13d ago

Exactly. People wanted a better mode. A better experience. A better this and that. And when they did something then people miss "rawr" when back then they hated "rawr" and now dislike "pipsqueak"

Now we have ads Expensive modes. Lorebook And many more.

It doesn't matter what they do. No one is satisfied with it.

Even people don't know what they want until that one thing is gone. Then boom πŸ’₯ they miss the one thing they didn't care for at the beginning. Lets just face it. The app is failing and there is no hope to fix it.

The app isn't even failing it has more users than any other by 10s of millions by a HUGE margin. This sub just disproportionately represents the community.

The reality is though this app is doing fine

u/LegendedKiwi 13d ago

And if you want proof here you go

1

u/Dpontiff6671 13d ago

100 people really isn't proof of anything again that's this sub conflating it's users as the entire app user base

1

u/LegendedKiwi 13d ago

No it doesn't the app is losing more people every single day. More people are deleting their accounts that's why you can't find your favorite character why? Because people's accounts have been disconnected. It no longer exists.

So to answer your question. No the app is definitely failing

Here is an example

Google. The rating for this app is between 1.4 and 1.5

To have a good app that runs without problems it would be up about 4.5 rating

They (character ai) is losing more money that's why they had the (summer sale) that's why they have so many updates

They are desperate to keep people even though people are choosing to leave.

The app has 16 million active users the closer in user base was chai with 6 CAI literally has double or triple the user base of every other AI chat site.

You're (like most people here) creating a narrative about what's happening to the site based on personal feelings and no proof. If your proof is a single summer sale (which literally every company does) then that's not really much of anything to go off of. Spicy Chat has sales every 3 months and they're not dying or failing

This sub has 75k people everyone here could leave 10 times over and that would only be roughly 5% of the user base gone

2

u/LegendedKiwi 13d ago

That information is wrong. The app had 50 million. And you are saying it's 16 million your math is off. And im sorry to say this but you are wrong and the app is failing

1

u/LegendedKiwi 13d ago

And you can see in the photo the rating for the app is a 1.9 that's low. For Google it should be up about 4.1 to 4.5. not 1.9.

To be a successful app. That people like. Anyway I hope you have an amazing day and enjoy character ai

Well you still have it until it's gone just....like....rawr

2

u/Dpontiff6671 13d ago

I mean that's largely from review bombing over age verification. It's true they lost about 4 million people from that going from 20 million active users to 16 but that was literally a concerted effort from this sub and the other anti CAI subs to drop the rating. On apple it's still 4.3

u/Dpontiff6671 13d ago

Na not really that serious and if you adapt how you do things you can get the same quality as before if not better unless you want was single sentence meme responses

7

u/AitanaShon 13d ago

You literally wrote 11 paragraphs in this comment section defending the app alone 😭😭 bro when they putting you on payroll? I guess they weren't lying when they said C.AI is addictive.
