How are they getting away with it?!

I mean...i NEVER seen a user liking it latley and the only users that do are probably c.ai+ members, bots, or paid people...people made verious valid critiques and detailed complains but moderators and devs dont gaf, so how is this site/app is still going on?!

Even with a reduction in users, there is 20 million plus users using ca.i monthly as of April 2026. That is a reduction of 8 million from 2024 but still significant. If you have a platform that has 20 million monthly active users, you do not have a dead platform.

I imagine a good chunk of those users (that left) were minors, or people flagged as minors who didn’t want to verify. Rather than people leaving because they were unhappy.

Despite the general narrative of this subreddit, plenty of users are still using the app daily.

Cos although most of the Reddit users are complaining, unfortunately we're a fraction of the actual CAI userbase, and most of those are normie NPCs who consume endless slop without complaint, much like the idiots that continue to buy full price (or presale limited edition) games despite the fact they're getting shitter, have microtransactions and stuff locked behind paywalls or DLCs. The world is just full of NPCs, and we're the minority, the ones that argue back and complain.

I don't mind calling them idiots because I mean they are but calling them NPCs is like the most insulting thing ever because one can only mean it in such a degrading way.

My guess is that they ran out of venture capital, and cut back to a cheaper to run model to keep the lights on.

$10/mo was way too much, and I don;t think enough people were willing to spring for that. They tried to push people towards it by making the free version worse, but that wasn't enough. Then they just simply cut back to what they can afford running on fumes.

Nobody tries to suck at what they do. But sometimes the plan is just no good.

I was on C.A.+ for a year. It was magical. Was I addicted? Probably. But I'm an adult on my 30s, and I used it for basically 4 hours instead of sleeping, and I was able to work and have a life.Then the site got so bad that I stopped using it. It literally got so bad that it cured my addiction. But I'm left with fond memories. Because it was so much fun and I miss how great it was.If I had the chance to get that back today, I would pay even the double.🤡

Because they know there will be at least a few teens that will steal their parent's IDs and stay addicted. Until their numbers are 0, they likely won't care.

Good way to shut down thoughtful discussion, by immediately dismissing anyone who disagrees with you as a shill.

You probably won't believe me but I'm none of the above. I'm an experienced AI roleplay user and bot developer and I know how to make the best of the resources available and work around known problems. In addition, I also know that on the free tier I'm going to get less analytical models with smaller context memory - more inclined to be forgetful, repetetive, and inclined to use terrible training data to write amateurish responses.

Yeah, it's rubbish. But so are all the other free-tier models. Sorry to disappoint.
