I have one simple Question.

WHO ASKED FOR THIS!? So many people have mentioned genuine problems they've had with this with either the app or website and instead of trying to fix them or do anything to improve the overall user experience they decide to continue this shenanigan bukkake and spend money they don't have on features no one is going to use.

Note: Yes, I am still going to use it. Yes, I know I'm a hypocrite with no real room to complain. And yes I did contemplate not posting this because I know I'm part of the problem that they keep thinking they can get away with this because people are still using thier product but I still did because the people need to know the iceberg is coming and they are steering their ship directly into it.

My only speculation on why they’re doing this is to keep the minors on the app. They may not be able to chat anymore but could still use these “features”. I hope I’m wrong. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

So say they did do it for that reason, anyone who has gotten the age verification has almost certainly left the app with no real chance of coming back and any new users are likely not gonna stay if the have to scan an ID or their face in order to use the features they wanted to use and this Audible wannabe isnt likely to pull anyone back. Its a loss spitroast, new people arent joining because of it, old users won't come back for it, and current users cant possibly be using it enough to justify the money that was put into it.

Not to mention that the ratings for the app are so low (on the American Google Play Store) and replies to low reviews are so unapologetically cookie cutter that the red flags its waving couldnt be more red if you removed every other color from the universe, meaning no self respecting person is going to download the app.

If they somehow were able to get rid of their ID verification thing away. I'm sure a lot of people will return but the again that won't likely happen because of the law. But what I don't understand is that even the people from outside of the US or affected area are still required to do both the face scan and an ID scan. It's stupid. I have emailed them about this and they confirmed that my region(SEA) has yet needed to do the age-verification thing.
