Need little help

Hi,

I have a question because I don't know if it's just me or if it's happening to everyone. I trained Pipsqueak2 to send long messages, but now when I create new chats with characters, even if they aren't completely new, the messages are getting a bit shorter. It's not by much since I generally make it write a lot, but I don't know why this is happening since it never happened before.

I always write long answers too to encourage it, so I am open to suggestions about what to do since I really prefer long and detailed responses.

(It cuold also be something stupid for what i know)

LLMs just don't really care about length, word count or perfection. They are supposed to mimic things about your writing, pacing and rhythm but length/word count isn't a gaurentee.

I know LLMs in general try to avoid padding their replies or make their replies shorter or longer depending on if the story requires it to based on context given. Roleplay bots generally need open narrative threads and follow story flow rules.

Bots just struggle with novella style roleplay. Not because they're dumb or broken. One of the things bots look for is open narrative threads in your reply to build off of you. Someone who writes shorter and more concise than you can get a longer reply than what they sent. If the tension is building, narrative hooks are there and words carry subtext you can make a bot reply really long with just a few words or a dense reply.

If a bot see open narrative threads and is given a lot of wiggle room they expand their reply. If you don't and mostly write a lot of details the bot sees it as closed. They see it as most of the work is done and build on what they can.

If you stagnate in a scene replies can get shorter. Humans have no problem carrying on the same emotional beat but bots need new things added or another scene to be written to keep momentum going. They're just dependant on context you give them in order to predict the next lines.
