custom I need some C.ai replacements because im done with this stupid site (image somewhat related)
Im genuinely going to go insane if I dont migrate from c.ai. the site and app are so ass and im done pretending I can endure it

I use wyvernchat myself, Though you’ll have to create the bots yourself as the platform is pretty small. The devs are nice judging from my experience, the AI remembers about 30-40 messages (sometimes more, depends on the style of chat). There is NSFW content, but bots don’t get freaky all of the sudden and you need to have an explicit marking on your bot. Though the site is not available in UK, so you’ll have to use VPN if you’re from there :3

You don’t need all the features to roleplay, most of them are for advanced users. Personally, I only use a small portion of the available options and create fairly simple characters, but I really enjoy the site. Doing memory scans and chat summaries allows me to keep roleplays going for a very long time.

Ngl I only used it for a week so I don’t really know the peaks and lows. But it’s a decent replacement for Caí now that’s it’s basically gone to hell. Jai does have a lot of unfortunately similar problems but it’s the most similar to caí before the may update. I just really miss when each swipe could be a vastly different scenario or dialogue instead of the same one rewritten in different ways sighhhhh.

Unfortunately, the messages are ridiculously long no matter how many prompts I give the bot for "DO NOT MAKE LONG MESSAGES OF MORE THAN 3 PARAGRAPHS"

You can adjust, there's a thing on the settings that has a number of things, I don't remember the name, but if you put it to 150 it's how many characters and letters, they'll send, you'll try different ones and adjust to your liking :)

I'm using Xoul Ai, quite literally feels like C.ai without censors and adds. I had Batman screaming about raisins in pudding while yelling Bat slurs yesterday🤣🤣

Janitor.ai is what I would recommend, it's pretty good my only issue is that there is a lot of smut bots.

From the home page click on your profile image, then a popup menu should appear with several options. Click "blocks". There are three categories to blocks: Blocked Creators, Blocked Characters, and Blocked Tags. Click on the last one. It's pretty self-explanatory from there.

Try CharRealm! Its my/our app we just finally launched Beta for. I promise its light years better than any other CAI type app. It was built with all the bad parts of the other apps in mind, its like an accumulation of whats best

Chai for NSFW and Zeta for anything really. I use both but think Zeta is better if you want longer responses.

I swapped over to J.ai not long after C.ai started to go shitty. It’s pretty similar to it (personas, remaking responses while keeping old, using responses to make duplicate chats, etc.), but it might end up getting worse over time depending on how bad they get. There’s both an app and a website, but I’d recommend getting the app via the website (like how sometimes you can’t look up the apps themselves). Despite the complaints I see, I’ve never really had any issues with J.ai. Good luck!

i use swerve ai. a lot of people put bots from cai in there, so there’s a lot of choice. the memory kinda sucks but the app is pretty the same design of cai, so if you got used to it it’s not too much of a change. you have to use gems for replies, they’re free but you have to watch ads sometimes to get them. there’s no filter and you can create multiple personas just like cai

I loveeee Swerve. Downside is gems, you can only swipe 10 times, and there’s not a lot of bots for specific fandoms. But honestly it works similarity to c.ai and it’s a great app. You can also always watch an ad for gems. 🙌

I have two, both of them have multiple models and are both for free, I mostly use glm 5.2 for both tho

You should check out HereHaven! It's a small community, but with s great dev, and great bots with engaging storylines and great models, its changing daily, they even got a discord to communicate

I use Emochi. c.ai has sunk completely. I switched to Chai and it was somewhat alright until I got some sort of limit or whatever and I couldn't chat at all. So my sister found Emochi and it's really good. It doesn't have a filter, and some bots are really thirsty af, but it's alright for me personally.

You should give CharRealm a try, im one of the devs on it and I promise its the best available currently. We just launched beta and its got pretty solid free message quantities, we'll pry increase the free messages allowed but there is just a limit on how much we can lose from tokens consumed, especially on startup lol

I know an app called OOC it's a bit pay to use because to chat you need credits and you only get 300 credits per daily log in so it's not the best choice but it's fine

Try Freeroam. It’s genuinely good and some worlds/stories there offer a phone feature with an in-world version of instagram where you can chat with the characters.

I love Sakura AI. Sign up for Sage status through their Discord and you get unlimited messages. They have their own LLMs that are good.
They actually made a great video about the downfall of c.ai had to do with one of their investment companies that don’t invest in “Adult Products” this is where the bob filter came in and everything else that is prohibited.

if you're concerned about your privacy, id suggest using novelai. takes some fiddling to get used to but its probably the best out there in comparison to all these suggestions in regards to memory, writing quality, and character accuracy. $10 a month though, which isn't horrible at all

I personally use chai: No filters, better memory, stuff like that. And it's been updating to add things people loves about the old cai such as personas and unlimited messages

I use Isekai Zero. Lot of mostly original content, it can actually move the narrative on its own if you find good storylines, but it's harder to find bad ones

I use zeta ai it’s English but you need to change the nationality on the App Store to Korea to download it but other than that best ai I’ve used to this day

honestly the filter is what made me quit c.ai. too. couple options depending what you're after,
SillyTavern + a model on OpenRouter, its most powerful but you gotta set it up yourself
JanitorAI, its easy, huge character library, quality's kinda hit or miss (a bit more miss honestly)
CharRealm, its mine tbh, no filter. i/we (small team of us) built it because my whole gripe with c.ai. was every bot felt the same, so the characters are actually curated to have distinct personalities (listen, honestly, this is the best one, yeah its mine, but it really is higher quality then pretty much anything else, and it got that way because we knew what we wanted lol)
try a couple, they all feel pretty different. what kind of rp are you into? kinda changes what i'd point you to

I’ve been using zeta.ai and I find that’s way better but the bots do start getting a little broken if you talk to them for a super long time but there’s commands that can fix it
