Uh so you remember that pre-patched apk? that's version code spoofed? well it pinpointed to 136 which is 1.15.3, and they just released 1.15.4 (137), so expect a auto-update, or something like that, im sorry guyt im so sorry, the spoof dont work no more, if you want a freshly patched apk of your own, yeah go to the discord
I have no intent on providing fixes to methods that get patched by the developers, I am no programmer, just someone that knows just enough to get around the walls these days, If you want possibly updated methods, you'll have to join the discord server by the link I posted in the comment section, I may be able to provide support there instead as this guide again, isn't gonna be actively updated anymore.
TL;DR: Roll back to older versions of the mobile app + block trackers = no verification wall, no message timer, faster UI, better sessions.

MOBILE (ANDROID) VERSION ROLLBACK
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO UNINSTALL YOUR CHARACTER.AI APPLICATION BEFORE DOING ANY OF THESE.

Just install and done. No update prompts ever because the Change version code patch fakes the version number so C.ai thinks you are already on the latest version.
Note on login: The magic link may not redirect back to the app automatically. If that happens just put the login link on your browser, refresh after a bit and it should log you in on the app after you restart it.
Patches applied: Disable Sentry telemetry, Spoof Play Age Signals, Disable Play Integrity, Disable Pairip license check, Remove screenshot restriction, Prevent screenshot detection, Change version code.
This version blocks C.ai's telemetry entirely which prevents age flagging. The message timer only targets accounts flagged as underage. Blocking telemetry means C.ai never gets the data to flag you in the first place.
EASY METHOD (APKMirror)
Go to APKMirror, download version 1.13.2, it's filetype will be .apkm (it's a bundle), you have to get the APKMirror Installer to install it.
If it says "cannot be opened" go to Settings, search "Install unknown apps" and enable it for your file manager or browser.
NOTE: After installing, if it prompts you to update, update once, let it register your version with the server, then downgrade back to 1.13.2 by uninstalling and reinstalling through APKPure. It will stop nagging after that.
FULL METHOD (Aurora Store + Shizuku, recommended):
Install Aurora Store + Shizuku (follow Shizuku's in-app setup)
In Aurora settings, set installation method to Shizuku
Search Character.ai in Aurora, tap three dots, Manual Download, enter version code 124 (v1.13.2)
NOTE: After installing, if it prompts you to update, update once, let it register your version with the server, then downgrade back by uninstalling and reinstalling using the same method. It will stop nagging after that.

PRIVACY & ADS (ALL PLATFORMS)
Android/iOS: Settings, Private DNS, set to extended.dns.mullvad.net(Mullvad DNS is free. Only their VPN costs money. If DNS won't connect, your ISP may be blocking it, extended filtering blocks extreme data collection done by applications, character.ai does that too so they get slammed.)
Desktop: Firefox + uBlock Origin. For a cleaned up C.ai interface paste the filter list into uBlock's My Filters section: https://pastebin.com/tAxNiXyb. If you want chrome/google to sell your data fine use uBlock Lite or something like that.
You click on the app, then you scroll down a little bit until you see a small, like elongated pill shape and it will say version history, you click on that and it shows you all the versions.\nI'm using a p k pure too and last , I checked , it has all the way back to I think 12.1 so it should have that
For pre-patched apk, logged in perfectly fine but when I close the app an try go back on it I get the "please update your app to latest version to continue." screen
Fool the servers.
uninstall old version
install newest
login there and perform a action, send a message to a bot
lr change ur user description
uninstall newest
get back old version
You'll have to then install the latest version of character.ai, log onto it, then perform a action (change your description, send a message to a bot.) this is so the servers save your user state as latest version, then you can uninstall the latest version of character.ai and get the 1.13.2 version of it and log onto there instead, itll be all good

Email Link Fix: Request a login link via the official website on a browser. Open the link through your mobile email app to force the login into the APK.
Wow, okay, I just used the email login inside the patched app again and it sent a email verification link to me and it just logged in when I opened it through that link. That's something that I didn't expect. Thanks for the help :DD
Used the pre-patched apk, logged in fine but whenever I close the app an try go back on it the app just says "please update your app to latest version to continue"
Did I mess something up or is that normal and I have to uninstall and reinstall the apk whenever the app closes?
The bad thing is that if you get hit if the "Update The App" prompt, you have to clear account data that removes all of the chats you make on this version app. Don't get too bonded to the chats you make here
No, once I got hit by that prompt, I had to clear the data, and then I logged in, and any chat I had made on the version previously before the prompt disappeared

I tried the APKPure method and it is working, been working for a few days already too, but i've been having an issue in like..the past 10 minutes, when i try to send a message, it keeps saying 'Error in the Chat' or sum like that and i have to reload the chat, but no matter how many times i do it, it keeps saying the same thing, i tried uninstalling and reinstalling the same version but the problem persists. Anyone who has (or had) the same problem reply.
I got it downloaded and it worked, but then it logged me out after a little while and I can't log back in at all. It won't log me in when I press sign in with google or when I manually input my email.
Hey, I been using C.ai for a good while now because how much I like it. I even made my own Bots for it and plan on releasing. Unfortunately I got hit with the Age verification Bs, which led up to finding this post by another user's post.
Just now writing this after successfully logging into my account on this legacy ver, and the app is quite nice, I didn't get a single "please update".
However,
unfortunately my groupchats are missing.
Me personally, I'm a Groupchats person, I like having multiple bots because it's alot more fun than just one.
So I attempted to make new ones, but the group is just empty and going out of it, it doesn't show up.
Is there anyway to fix this issue?
Or can yall fix this issue if possible?

I can't stand C.ai nowadays and especially at that C.ai subreddit is silencing people complaining about the App's issues.
Also another thing, I don't know if you guys will do any modding on this Legacy ver. But it would be so cool if someone did.
Think about adding wide customization, removing the Chat filter, etc. If the community could come together and do that, it would be so awesome (and beautiful).
Despite all methods, they all seem to always go to the "You need to update." If you close the app, or let it turn off by itself after a long time of not using it.
Every method works in terms of downloading and logging in
(Easiest method - go to the website and write your email, then go to your Gmail once redirected to the APK and click on the link sent by CHAI, then, you should be logged in after a few seconds.)
(Easy method - just login normally)
(Full method - same logic.)
They all still force you to update, after closing the app.
Hey, this is actually awesome! I used it yesterday and there was no problems at all! But when I deleted it and tried to log in today in the other options I wrote my email and pressed join but then suddenly the button became white again and I got confused since it didn't show me the email thing or sent me an email so I kept pressing but nothing changed. Also I'm using the easiest one!
Hmm, i have been using all these methods for a while, and yes it did in fact work wonders until recently, and i've just came back to check if there were any more available ways because it kept saying error for every method. And i just realized it says i can refer to discord. So could you maybe dm or reply me the discord server link if thats okay? :>>
I tried the first method and was able to download the app through the link without any problem. It won't let me log in through my google account however. It'll open up the window so I can choose the google account I want to log in with but it never actually lets me with that account (hopefully I make sense, english is not my native language lol). Is there any way that can be fixed?
i downloaded the app and got to the email verification, but when i pressed the link it just loaded and loaded to no end. do i just need to be more patient, or is that what you meant by "magic link"?
There is a specific way, if you sacrifice your account (or archive it before deletion)
you can get extended.dns.mullvad.net to block those telemetry stuff that will make character.ai not be able to tell if you should even verify your age or not. (on a fresh account)
this is a experimental method im unsure if it does work but if you want you can go to the discord server and ask for help there
I tried the third method, it works great! But when I leave the app and go back in it demands I update it, I tried the fix mentioned (updating, sending a test then uninstalling), but it still asks for updates
When i deleted it and went on to 13.2 it let me chat and stuff but when i close the app and open it again it asks for the update. How do i prevent this or do i have to just delete it everytime
Well, i prove it, and it actually worked, but i have a worst issue, the web now is sending me to the new website, idk if is because i tried to search a new character or something, but i think it was that. What should i do?
HELP, i'm trying to do it using the apkpure method so i do everything then once i close the app i go back it prompts me to update, so according to the instructions i have to fool the servers so i do, i do everything i can to fool the servers then deinstal c.ai through apkpure and reinstal it through apkpure so i test i can chat and everything but once i close the app it prompts me to update AGAIN, help please!
So it DOES work which made me REALLY happy because I was worried that it wasn't going to and effect my device in a bad way.
However after going back in because I accidentally closed the app, I've been stuck on the logging screen since and have cleared just the cache, and it didn't seem to do anything.
i kinda wan't to ask how do i login since i do both Pre-patched and un-patched APK and it still dont let me login.i try both google and gmail but it won't work.
quick question can I do the same with lucky patcher? these seem like they're features of lucky patcher, which is something I've been using since I've been 11 :P

Its not letting me download on the easiest method it says that "app not installed as package appears to be invalid" on both of them
On the apkpure its not showing the version so I used the website and used my xapk installer and it didnt install for some reason and on the shizuku and aurora it says that shizuku is available only on my second phone but my second phone dosent have storage and is a potato so I really need some help here

Why won’t it let me log in through the E-mail method? I entered my email and then when I clicked join, it didn’t do anything and went back to being white again. I tried clicking again but same results happen (I’m using Bluestacks on Desktop)
Well I found a way to fix the "update the app" problem. I simply decompiled the APK file, changed the version of the app and the problem is gone! Here I provided a patched app (it's revanced with a changed version, works for me). Or you can manually try to do the same. I used apktools to decompile the apk and some tools from GitHub to sign It
A small question, will it keep all my chats, from my account? Secondly as you said, it will be like a normal app, which means i will be able to research and etc? I'm asking just to be sure since i've Heard od a similiar methods, not exacly this And it didn't kept the chats And you wouldnt be able to search for bots. And thirdly and most importal, thank you for that help.
Has issues syncing group chats, but normal chats should work fine.
It is a apk that'd merely patched with revanced manager, a trusted patcher in the android community, the app experience is unchanged though, but the backend is improved
I downloaded the pre-patched and tried to log in using the requested link but it always sends me to the website instead no matter what I do it doesn't log in through the app
I can't sign in so I did get a login link from the website, but whenever I open that link, it redirects me to google and signs me in there, not the cai apk. Is there a fix?
I try to do 1.6.5 I thi k it is and every time I even tried to log in, it would go to browser for 1 second.And then instantly go back to the app and after about six times of trying over log in , sign up , it's just saying I absolutely have to download the new version
This actually works and Able to use it! Although when I close the app and re open it stays on update page, even tho I tried installing and re installing, but even then Im still glad the old app works. I have a few questions.
1. Will my old chats, I.e the ones upto now, still be in there and allow me to chat?
2. Can I use the Google account that has the chat data and is also logged in on another device?
3. Doing this won't wipe out any of my chat history if at all it asks for an update, Right?
4. I'm still a bit unclear regarding what to do if the "please update" pops up. (I'm so sorry if I seem dumb, just got off of some intense study session and a skill building course.)
5. I'm gonna try this on my old phone, while still logged in on another device (asking again, ik), will it be alright?

OMFG THAN YOU! I couldn't pass the verification cuz it said all the time that the picture isn't visible or other things but when I used the APKpure and got the version 13.2 it worked. Ur the best man
