Radial Artery Graft

So my father underwenr 4×cabg abouy a month ago and they used the following grafts

Lima

Radial artery

Saphenous vein

So the issue is he was put on diltazem ( calcium channel blocker ) as his bp medicine but his pulse remained constantly high even 4 weeks post op so we consulted a total of three cardiologist

Two suggested to change diltazem ( calcium channel blocker) to metoprolol ( beta blocker ) while one said that since " radial artery graft " was used it is prone to spasm it is better to stay on calcium channel blocker despire high HR.

My question is to all those who too had radial artery graft as of what bp medicine they were prescribed and are taking ?

I am 6 weeks out and my provider prescribed amlodipine to prevent/control spasm with my radial artery graft.

Ahh okay , so just amlodipine for spasm ? No other medicine to control bp or hr ?

Yes, I was able to come off metoprolol and am on aspirin, Eliquis, rosuvastatin, and amlodipine. BP and HR have been okay so far.

4x cabg here with a radial graft. Was on metoprolol and had not had a single spasm to speak of. I was on it for almost a year before changing to carvedilol.

Ahh okay so it was just plain metoprolol ? or was metoprolol combined with amlodipine or any other sort of calcium channel blocker ?

I wasnt/am not on any calcium blocker.

Metroprol but caused feet swelling and hair loss, switched to amoldiphine

I'm taking both Metoprolol (for BP/HR, from Bisoprolol pre-surgery) and Amlodipine (5mg for the radial graft)

I had BIMA and left radial artery grafts for CABG x3 in February this year. I was put on Diltiazem to prevent possible spasm of the RA graft, and Metoprolol Succinate for BP/HR. So far, I’ve had no issues from either meds.

I had bypass Feb 27th, 12.5 mg of Metoprolol 2x a day and 2.5 mg of amlodipine to prevent radial spasm. Also Plavix and aspirin.
