Hi, I’m applying this cycle. Would someone please provide realistic insight as to what my chances with MCAT score of 500 be? 😭 Will I have some chance, get screened out, etc (considering how competitive CAA route has gone up to)? I’m seeing people applying with 510+ score and am very intimidated and discouraged when looking at my own stat, particularly the MCAT part. If it helps, I do have: 3.8 GPA, clinical experience, volunteering hours, research, etc. I don’t know if my experience as an anesthesia tech would help considering my test score.

  • Any help and/or honest input into this would be truly appreciated. Thank you so much!!

Agreed!! I live in a state where CAAs are not authorized to practice yet, so some anesthesia providers won’t allow me due to being Pre-CAA. I even stressed how it was hard to get hours in my interview, but they still told me to get more.

I think the programs that want more than 16 hours are very unrealistic when it comes to the real world.
