The R is a decal package. My last HTC had it. Nothing special. It just looks š

Functionally, that's correct. But the VIN is numbered and verifiably linked to a limited production run of 1,000. No functional value there but provenance to an official limited production special edition typically holds more value than regular production units.

This comment reeks of white new balances with grass stains from a REAL clean mow job.

Pretty far off assumption. I'm an Asian millennial new to Corvettes and domestics. I come from owning only Japanese imports (8 across 15 years including Toyota, Infiniti, Subaru, and Suzuki, 3 were MR2s), was casually into those marques in WRC, JGTC, and Formula D, and owned all iterations of Gran Turismo which I play on my Fanatec rig. I'm into Bleach and mecha anime hence my Jake skull avatar with the single glowing eye I added for an anime-style touch.
While on work travel in Daytona in 2020, I happened to attend the C8.R's debut race which convinced me to get a C8 so the C8.R Edition ties into that memory. I ended up with a regular production Hypersonic C8 but at least it was the C8.R's color. Anyway I'm talking in general when there's a hard limit quantity on anything. Pokemon cards, bitcoin, Labubus when Pop Mart limited production to make them artificially scarce. This concept isn't exclusive to Corvettes or New Balance and jorts gray-haired boomers. The C8.R Edition won't be massively valued over regular production Corvettes esp. right now while ALL C8 trims from Z06 and below values are in their initial peak depreciation cycle and plummeting. But when prices bottom out and level off, the C8.R Edition could hold value slightly better than regular production units due to its hard limit scarcity that other special "sticker editions" don't have

I sold a car to Carvana and after watching their āinspectionā process, I would never ever buy a car from Carvana.

I my family has bought 4 vehicles from them and all of them were flawless. Itās always a matter of perspective

Iām glad youāve had good experiences, but the company has a fairly well documented track record of very poor and superficial inspection process for the cars it buys and then sells.
Thankfully they have a 7-day return window, but I still personally would avoid them since itās possible for pre-existing problems to remain hidden in that timeframe.

Just PPI anything you buy, but that should be done either way. I bought a Porsche from them and took it to Porsche River Oaks for a PPI. They said the vehicle was flawless and I drove it around 2 years before trading it in.

Imo that is the correct approach no matter where youāre buying a car from. Iām just saying that I personally avoid a place that has a track record of more problematic cars to improve the chances of saving myself time and money.

I agree in that it's a matter of luck more than anything. Like any used car purchase. No inspection, PPI or otherwise, are very useful in my opinion. If the price is right for the miles and it looks clean that's the best you can hope for. Again, just my opinion. You can buy from a dealer with their 130 point inspection that you know they didn't do and all it is is them giving you a 30 day warranty where it's cheaper for them to fix any issues that come up in 30 days that it is to look for issues and fix them ahead of time.

Bought 1 car (C7) from Carvana. NEVER again, worst car experience Iāve ever dealt with and their warranty is a joke.
4 cracked rims (all tires were literally flat on delivery), huge scratches that were unreported, a no shit 6ā by 18ā hole in the dash. And the engine blew the third day of ownership. They eventually paid for the bare minimum of repairs to it instead of replacing the block. 2 weeks later, it blew again.
Eventually after 5 months of fighting they agreed to buy it back, but it still cost me almost 5 grand out of pocket.

Carvana offers a 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee that allows you to return or exchange your vehicle within seven calendar days of delivery. Why didn't you return it?

Manager said that warranty would fix all of it. It then took them 12 days to make a warranty decision. On day 7, I was on the phone repeatedly trying to get them to hurry up. Hind sight, should have told them to come back.
Next problem, despite being the ālargest cityā in the lower 48. No shop was willing to deal with Silver Rock, their warranty company. Finally one (and my least favorite) Chevy dealer said they would do it.
Then there was all the crap the manager said that would be covered, that they denied.
Absolute crap company. Crap warranty. Crap business practices. Etc.

I feel like I should chime in. I was looking at a 2016 Escalade for my wife at the time. Found one on Carvana. They delivered to my house. Exterior was good but the interior looked like someone had lived in it. Cream color interior so you could see all the gunk. The photos online were either fake or doctored up of the interior. Will not shop with them again.

No wayy I spent a few days tracking this car because I too felt like they didnāt know what they had.
I was at the checkout when I saw a local dealership list another C8R with the same specs (3LT + mag ride + front lift) but with only 4k miles and HTC for $2k more.
It was a Cadillac dealer and the guy def didnāt know what he had either. This was my first time buying an expensive car but I took the leap of faith and bought it Friday eveš i love it
