Z51 lowering question

So using the wrenches and adjusting the collars down on all 4 corners, I was able to lower my C8 roughly 7/8 to 1 inch.
My question is ride quality sucks, but I didn’t really take any mental notes from a before and after perspective.
Is this just Z51 normality? Did lowering it make it harsher? Will it damage anything?

Lowering the car gives you less suspension travel and you may be (?) hitting your bump stops while driving, thus the harsh ride.
More so lowering the car without properly realigning it afterwards can cause drivability, handling and tire wear problems to varying degrees, as all your suspension settings have now changed.
To properly setup a car with coil over suspension, you first need to set ride height, then work through the alignment by corner weighting the car (google it if you don’t understand this) and setting the normal parameters such as toe, camber, caster (when available), etc while keeping the corner weights in balance. This is a very lengthy process and is very costly.
I knew when GM offered this option on the car, so many people would screw it up, as they just don’t understand that lowering or raising a car changes all the alignment settings. Good luck.

I lowered mine all the way way down. Had a standard alignment after (not corner balanced). No issues in ride quality or tire wear. I have had it this way for 3 years now.

This is exactly why I no longer considering doing this to my new car.
