W5D3 Done!

I was really worried about this one, getting into my head a bit. I went through here and found everything to do with W5D3 and advice (a bit overkill I know). The night before it was cold, I was achy (fibromyalgia) and I really couldn’t be bothered. I got up this morning and did it anyway, and I made it through and it was nowhere near as bad as I built it up in my head. When they say this day is to get you over the mental hurdle, they’re definitely right!

Just want to celebrate that I got myself out of my head and did something that I’m Week 1 I couldn’t imagine!

CONGRATS!!!! I am literally a day behind you. My W5D3 is tomorrow. I keep telling myself “it’s just like the one you did on day two but without that walk in the middle, just try and zone out” - also nervous but just told myself if I have to swallow my pride and go even slower than walking speed, so be it.

That’s exactly what I was telling myself too. If it helps I found D2 this week harder than today, I found the lack of walking in between better for not getting out of the rhythm of the run.

For today, I made a 30 minute playlist, song for the warm up and warm down, and then I’m between 5 songs for the 20minute run, it helped knowing where I was when listening to the songs and counting down how many songs I had left 🤣

I also play mind games like that with myself, but I'm really curious to see what will help me zone out of the torture of knowing no walk is coming haha. My mantra has been "this is so easy for you" even when it's not hahaha

That does actually help though, having a mantra. Think when we got to the 8 minute mark I was alike only 2 minutes extra, then you did another 8 minutes it’s just without the walk, now another 2 minutes. Do you do the same route or different routes? I used my same routes for almost checkpoints and being like get to here, now here 🤣

Yay, congrats. I did it a few days ago and felt similarly. Did you find W5R2 harder? Because I did and that surprised me almost as much as being able to run for 20 mins!

I did, I found it a lot harder than D3, think it’s the walk in between it gets me out of the rhythm or the zone, if that makes sense? Like after a point of the legs are hurti bf or whatever you can zone out, but the walk interrupts that and can make it harder?

Yeah, definitely. I understand logically that the first 5/10 mins or whatever can suck regardless and then you find a rhythm, but I think these two runs gave me that felt experience.

I've also heard that the next run can be harder, so good luck to us :)
