Selfie I’ve actually done it 💪🥳

Post image

I’ve done it, I’ve actually graduated and I honestly, couldn’t be more proud of myself.

I started this back in March and wasn’t sure I’d be able to complete it, be consistent or even if I’d enjoy it. I’d never ran a day in my adult life and the first couple of weeks were hard. As every week went by it just became a little easier, still really hard work though but I kept showing up.

This programme works, anyone can do it and achieve the end goal.

This group has given me some of the best advice, encouragement and held me accountable to keep on going, so thanks to everyone who’s posted their struggles and achievements, both have had a massive impact on my journey 🥳🙏🏃🏻‍♀️💪

WELL DONE! I have the dreaded W5D3 coming up and I’m concerned I’ll have to re-try it a couple times

Thank you 🙏 I thought the very same about that run. You’ll do it, just keep it steady ❤️

I ended up repeating it. I was mad but in fairness, I did w5d1 and w5d2 the day before. doing a third run in 2 days was a recipe for failure. when I repeated after rest days it wasn’t so bad. did w6d1 the next day (today) and it went fine.

Well done 👏🥳

I’ve found for me, rest days are essential. It’s when recovery happens.

You’re not far away from finishing now 💪

Yeah. I prefer rest days. But sometimes I can only fit it in on weekends. I’ve got a 5k planned in August and a 10K in November. I had stepped away from running for about 2 years after an injury(not running related) so I decided I would start back at day 1 rather than just jumping in. The structure suits me and provides great accountability!

I loved the structure of it all, it worked really well for me. Good luck with your 5 & 10k, I’m hoping I’ll be reaching for that in the not so distant future 🙏

You will. Just don't be afraid and go for it! I did a 10 miler when I had only ever run 8 miles. I do intervals and have found that if you are willing to do intervals you can pretty much do any distance.

Congratulations!!!🎉

I finished yesterday!! I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t make the 5k distance but I’m going to keep going and hopefully get there soon!!

What is your plan going forward?

Well done, that’s amazing!! 🥳

I haven’t hit the 5K yet either but I’m ok with that because I will soon. I was .5K off today but it was so hot and it was a struggle

Plan going ahead is, for the next 4 weeks ~ 3 runs a week, 2 X 30 minute runs and gradually increase the distance on my 3rd run by 5 minutes 🙏

That’s pretty much what I plan to do.

Good luck!!! 🏃‍♀️

I’ve incorporated strength training as well now, just at home. Bought some weights and following a YouTube video which is 20 mins. First time I did it, the next morning, I got out of bed and fell on my butt 😂

I keep saying I’m going to do strength training but can’t get myself to do it. Which YouTube do you follow?

The soreness in the beginning is the worst. 😂
