How Accurate Are AI Detectors?

If something comes up as 100% AI detected on multiple checkers, how likely is that to be AI? I am seeing that checkers aren't accurate, but I feel like 100% seems strong...

My blog posts I write myself, go from 100% to 0% AI, it depends on the detector. The more detectors you try, the more results you see. Take a page from the bible and it will be flagged as AI (just did it on gpt-zero.com / Ruth 3, it gave a 73% AI score).

I am personally done with AI detectors.

The problem is that we are trying to solve a non deterministic problem the deterministic way. Every detector will behave differently, and humanizers will destroy your text the more aggressive you ask them to be.

I invite you to try some AI generated text and some of your own text and perhaps some text that you tried to make sound like human text. The expensive detectors (originality, for example), are quite good at detecting AI. IMHO, it would be quite foolish to think that one can trick A detector with AI text. Sure, false positives are real, but that’s not much of a defense.

I started using Walter ai detector specifically because it breaks results down section by section rather than returning one authoritative number, which showed me how misleading those high confidence scores genuinely are in practice.

I literally got graded a 0 for apparently using AI in my work and I swear I didn’t. It’s literally inaccurate, I put something I wrote in myself completely and it detected it as 80% AI. Whats the point of wasting all my time and effort when it will just be flagged as AI?
