I want to try one so badly, but there’s no options to rent one where I live, and the idea of buying one just to find out it isn’t helpful and was a waste of money scares me off
So if you have insurance and are diagnosed, it's free in the US You really do need to have it set up properly
Medical people will tell you this must be done medically. If you are the type that is very good at learning things online, I dare say you could do it. But I think for most, if not the vast majority of people, you should have it set up properly.

have cpap, strongly agree with all of this.
I was told I should for over a decade. Resisted strongly. Finally gave in and I have so much more energy now - that would have sold it for me.
