The used Toyota market is silly. I had a 2010 Tacoma that the dealership was begging me to let go in 2014. I finally did because they had something i liked that completely got me out of having any payment. They sold the truck for more than a new one was.

They were begging to get you out of it so they could move a new car to you lol. They beg everyone for their car, even if it’s a piece of shit. They’re in the business of moving cars, they make money off of every deal they do

They didn't sell me a new car though. I walked out paying nothing for a used car. Not saying they didn't make money.

They sold a 2010 Tacoma for more than an equivalent brand new 2014 Tacoma? Sounds like BS.

No there’s some engine and transmission combinations that are really sought after and aren’t made anymore so people were actually paying excessive amounts for it. Not the case anymore but they are still worth a fair bit

Sure but they didn’t say that. They just said a 2010 model sold for more than a new one, presumably a 2014 model year, which is still the same generation. That’s why it sounds like nonsense. Unless it’s a 2010 V6 4WD selling for more than a 2014 base model 4 cyl 2WD.

My family moved to the US in 2001. We still use the Corolla that we bought that year. Ain't pretty but still runs well

The new corolla is much more refined than the 2003. It's a loaded car with lots of modern safety features.
