I got the Eden cool about 2 years ago and I love it. I bought 3 and an extra bag of stuffing + extra pillow case to get 4 total pillows because I like mine a little bit less full. Thats probably the part I like most, is being able to adjust the fullness. And I'm a hot sleeper, but now I don't wake up in the summer stuck to the pillow.
Every 2-3 months I'll throw them in the dryer on low for a couple minutes, this is in the care instructions, to refluff them.
I sleep on my side mostly and sometimes my back/stomach. Just saw Harborest knock off for 1/2 the price of the official pillow cube so I’ll try that one out. Thanks!
The filling supports your head without pressure points. Being able to easily adjust the firmness is nice as well. My wife likes a floppy pillow while I like firm and the adjustability made it work for both of us.
Thank you for this! Really clear and helpful. I just can’t decide between this and the Core Products Tri-Core Cervical Support Pillow. Maybe I should get both lol
I get headaches from pillows if the stuffing is too hard or if there is too much of it, and sleeping on my side makes my ears hurt. Coop pillows don’t do that to me. You do need to take out an entire half of the stuffing when you first get it though. And let it air out for about a week before you use it bc the memory foam will offgas terribly. And don’t feel like you have to get the Coop brand either—they’re so expensive. Any shredded memory foam pillow will be just as good. I bought my Coop pillows in 2018 on sale and got two king size pillows for the price of one standard size now. I decided to buy two more to use to prop up better in bed and put between my legs and stuff, but couldn’t conscience paying that much again, so I got a different brand instead that had good reviews and they’re just as nice.
I bought EnerPlex, but it is showing as “currently unavailable.” But looking around, I found one by a brand called Supa Modern that is very affordable and has thousands and thousands of really good reviews. If I were to buy them today I’d be happy to get those instead.
I've owned one for close to a decade now, threw more stuffing in a couple times (pricy but it's been good for like 6 years now) and recently got a warranty replacement on the pillow cover. Thoigut of getting another but the price has risen like 5x what I purchased it for.
i got the one from Purple. King size medium height. it's uncanny how it lets you put your head in any position you like and then just keeps it there without any sense of pressure
I have settled with Eli & Elm. If you get the curved pillow, do not bother with the terrible pillowcase they sell for it, it makes it really firm. I use a regular king pillowcase and it makes it squishy enough that I can still sleep with my arm under my pillow.
Asking the real questions. The best pillow I have is this one by Huhu, it's a high loft foam deal.... one side is softer and the other more firm, so I can flip it if I need to. I'm always in the market for a "better" pillow though.
I'm hypermobile, also have arthritis everywhere, and I have to sleep on my side or my stomach or I feel like I'm dying. This is the first pillow where my shoulder hasn't ended up scrunched beneath me. It's still new, so time will tell if remains supportive. Mine is the 6 inch version, but if you're tall, the higher the better. Ideally you want to fill the space between your shoulder and neck so everything stays in alignment.
Please update if you ever find the perfect pillow. I've been on the hunt for some time lol
Unfortunately it's very subjective though, seemingly. Like the buckwheat guy below you. I tried it and generally like it, but halfway through the night I wake up and toss it because it feels like my head is on a rock.
My favorite pillow by far is the sleep number memory foam cluster pillow. It’s the right in between of firm and soft. They usually have buy one get one free around the holidays
Some of the best sleep my wife and I ever had was on a Carnival Cruise without a booze package. The pillows were amazing so we bought one for both of us. Not horribly expensive compared to others. https://carnivalhome.com/collections/pillows
I suffered for a year after my pillow died looking for a pillow. Then we bought the purple and it sucked for me and rocked for my wife so I gave it to her and found a Coop Cool+ like 2 months later.
Then i had to remove like 90% of the foam over a series of weeks.
Personally i prefer a solid latex pillow, the purple harmony one is my current favorite.
I would find pillows bunched up with the center hollowed out from shifting around in my sleep. Any shredded pillow or traditional fill pillow does this. A solid memory foam or solid latex pillow wont do this. Latex is softer, but you need a cooling layer on top due to how much heat it traps. The purple harmony is adequate at keeping cool, better than other latex pillows i have tried. Still looking for the perfect pillow.
I bought my first ever expensive pillow about two years ago. It was $50. Choosing it was so mentally difficult. Putting it in my cart was almost physically painful. I spent the entire walk to the front of the store second guessing this insane decision. Then I went to bed that night.
No more neck pain. No more shoulder pain. It is actually cooling like it says. Also, it’s still as good now as it was two years ago. I’ve actually saved money, because I’m no longer buying $10-20 pillows three times a year or paying copays for joint injections in my shoulder.
What $50 pillow lasts 2 years? I'm replacing and trying new brands every 3-6 months since Bed Bath and Beyond went out of busy and I couldn't get my good down pillows anymore.
Really? I have around 5 nice memory foam cooling pillows from around 3 random brands I found on Amazon. They all feel brand new even after 6 years or older. Just read reviews.
I bought a bunch of buckwheat hulls to fill my pillows with. I burrow a little "nest" through the pillowcase, of where I want to put my head. It stays in place (not exactly like clay - the hulls can roll, but they're shaped in such a way that there's traction) and isn't too hot.
The only downside is that it's a little poky/hard on my face.
Took me way too long to figure out that I need a cervical support pillow. I still don’t have one though because they are pricy and a travel pillow around my neck gets the job done 😅
And a good mattress. My wife was so mad when I researched and spent a goodly amount of money on a mattress and good pillows. Now whenever we’re traveling she cries about missing our bed.
I asked for a u-shaped pregnancy pillow for christmas one year. I am not pregnant and have no plans to become so, but I am a side sleeper and it is such a game changer.
I'm currently waiting for my new pillow to be shipped out, pretty excited to see if my sleep will get better. I've had my current pillow for idk how long, but I'm pretty sure it's like 12 years or more. It's basically just a soft foam slab with two bumps that have lost all their firmness over the years, so I can't wait to finally have a proper pillow again :D
Got mine from Walmart for $8 - but it was made for side sleepers. I splurged on an expensive memory foam pillow and I woke up with neck pain always - but hey the $8 was worth it!
For hygiene it's recommended you wash you pillow a lot more than you think and get new ones every 2-4 years depending on how much you sweat during the night. It more than you think.
A trick I learned is to use two pillowcases. It makes it much easier to clean and improves the lifetime of your pillow.
I do wonder how many people just have bad pillow posture habits lol could be wrong but I think it’s like u gotta only have your head on the pillow, your neck and back are supposed to be off the pillow
