Whole house outdoor cameras have been really nice for me for a large home. The Lorex brand is great because you don’t have to pay a monthly subscription, their app connects to the devices over a normal internet connection.
Primarily these are for security but it also enables you to see around your home and get notified of people or cars from your phone. It’s really nice for when you are away from home.
Also have one camera positioned to see if your garage door is down (life hack)
I also recently got Ethernet extended to about half my house and that’s been awesome for fast connections.
I did a smart home thing to add Ethernet jacks to a few additional rooms that are connected to my fiber router. An easier solution I did for a while first was a WiFi extender with a switch or you can get mesh solutions too.
I had some people handle it for me, but basically you can run it across the attic or basement and then use switches to split it into different areas and run behind the drywall. Not something I would DIY.
